Remember, your life is not just a
matter of happenstance and Fate -- or at least it shouldn't be. By
living consciously, working with the flow of life and not against
it, you gain the best benefits from your talents and opportunities.
Information and knowledge, of course, are the vital keys to help you
understand and manage your life productively. But you can also let
these prospects slip away unfulfilled through confusion and neglect.
Each planet has meaning, as do each
of the zodiac elements. These meanings and their interpretation is
an art that is several thousand years old and based on long observation.
The position of the planets has also been subject to long observation
and can be predicted for past present and future.
Astrology is one of the ancient philosophies
still in existence in this world. It is to be more than 3,000
years old.
The word `astrology’ is a Greek
word it means `Science of the Stars’. Astrology was used by
the Chaldeans lived in Babylon around 3000 BC. The people of China
in Asia then became interested and began practicing Astrology.
For many a long year, the secrets
of this art were closely guarded, but when the ancient civilizations
of Egypt, Babylonia and Chaldea fell into decay, their sciences (among
them, the rules of astrology) passed to the Greeks and Romans. There,
even in a skeptical and material age, the most enlightened of men
continued to believe in the message of the heavens. "Astrology"
is, after all, a Greek word..."astro" meaning "star"
and "logos" meaning "words." In short,
"star words" or "star messages".
It cannot be denied that an early
accurate history of astrology is not available, and it is impossible
to state with any surety exactly when the technique was first practiced,
it would not be beyond the realm of possibility that the earliest
astrologers plied their skill in the plains of Chaldea, centuries
before the emergence of Christianity.
Somewhere in the year of 500 BC,
philosopher Plato used Astrology and studied it further. This kept
it alive, and it continued to spread throughout the ages.t took a
downturn when Galileo Galilei was the first astronomer to use a telescope
in the 1500's.Day by day the astronomy once again took an upswing
in popularity when it flourished in Egypt around the years of 300
BC.
It wasn't until the 1600's when an
astrologer named William Lilly renamed astrology as being "Christian
Astrology" in order to avoid the wrath of the Church and to make
it more acceptable. This was instrumental in popularizing astrology
and horoscopes of the present time.
In 1675, it was Flamsteed who selected
Greenwich, England, for the erection of an observatory. The reason
for his choice? When he made his mathematical calculations during
the 1670s, the meridian running through Greenwich was the geodetic
equivalent of no degrees of Aries- the first of the Zodiac signs and
the beginning or spring point. London was then the world's greatest
city and the center of learning. Greenwich lies on the zero degree
of longitude and, from that line, the meridians are numbered. Also
from that line, comes "Greenwich mean time," upon which
time in every corner of the Earth is based.
Later, the Arabs became the greatest
practitioners of astrology and even today, it plays a very important
role in the daily life of Mohammedan nations. When this doctrine of
astrology finally arrived in Europe from Arabia, kings, emperors and
princes of the Church all began to harbor an implicit faith in the
influences of the stars and it was far from unusual for a rich man
to retain his own domestic astrologer who would advise and forewarn
him.
Many nomadic tribes followed the
night skies to move from one location to the other. At night, we get
the impression that the Earth is surrounded by an enormous sphere
filled with scores of stars.
The planets, including the moon and
sun, were in old times called traveling stars, but today we simply
call them the seven planets of antiquity. The planets and the moon
are always found on the sky within a narrow belt, 180 wide, centered
on the ecliptic, called the zodiac. There are Twelve zodiac constellations
are placed along the ecliptic path traveling the zodiac belt. Their
names are Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio,
Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces.
The word "zodiac" itself
stems from the Roman "zodiacus," which in turn
is derived from the Greek "zodiakos," and literally
means "circle of animals".Here you will find celestial information
and horoscopes relevant for all zodiac signs. It makes you understand
your inner personality and lead a happy life full of love and compatibility
with the world around.
In 1929, the International Astronomical
Union adopted official constellation boundaries that defined the 88
official constellations that exist today.
Many famous astrologers of those
and later times are also celebrated for their achievements in other
sciences. Regiomontanus, Bishop of Ratisbon, for example, who reformed
the calendar; Johann Keplar, who discovered the fundamental laws on
which the solar system is built; Tycho Brahe, the gifted Danish astronomer;
Jerome Cardan, physician, philosopher and mystic; Pierre Gassendo,
one of the greatest mathematicians in history; Philip Melacthon, pioneer
of the Reformation; and John Flamsteed, famous astrologer and the
first Astronomer Royal of England.
A person's horoscope, or birth chart
as it is also called, depends on the time of the calendar year that
they [he / she] was born in.
Astrology does not compel, it impels.
Because it divines only the human soul itself, indicating the road
along which of your moral and mental qualities are likely to propel
an individual, astrology can be an unfailing signpost to the future.
Astrology can aid in overcoming the potential pitfalls in an individual's
path, just as it can provide fair warning of the opportunities and
luck that are to come along the way, making a person alert and ready
to seize at every chance with both hands.
It is the right time to takes more
than opportunity at the right time as well as the initiative and unique.
Vastu
20 years ago the educated Indian
had heard more about Feng Shui than about Vastu - yet suddenly it
is over all the classified for buildings and architecture. There is
a column on Vastu and everyday life in one of the main Indian papers
and suddenly people are wondering how they managed without it for
so long.
In the foreword of a book, which
is written by a New Yorker who spent time in Delhi, Vastu is described
as ‘ayurveda for buildings’. The word comes from Sanskrit
and means 'dwelling'.. Vastu is described in a part of Vedas believed
to be four to five thousand years old. Vastu Sastra is the guidelines
given by the Supreme Being. It tells us how to avoid disappointments,
diseases and disasters by living in structures which allow a positive
cosmic field to be present.
It attempts to bridge the gap between
traditional Vastushastra and modern architecture. The cosmic effects
of a wrong vastu and the remedial approaches are discussed at length.
Virtues of directions, analysis of the five great elements, to stream
theory, and flying stars and the relation between nature and individual
are also discussed in detail.
Vastu covers the queries that disturb
the human mind in every day walk of life. Various case studies discussed
here are self explanatory and help in understanding those deficiencies
that create situations like premature deaths. This covers all the
concepts, theories and correlations of various disciplines like astrology,
yogshastra, modern architecture and traditional Vastushastra and will
be helpful for those who want to learn Vastushastra.
An Architect can build a house but
he cannot provide a happy life to the house owner but Vastu provides
a guaranty. Of all the human creations of the world, building construction
is one of the unique creations of human being. It is pias deed. If
one removes Vastu art from building construction, it remains zero
in true sense. It is merely a systematic garbage dump of bricks, cement
and other material indeed.
Mankind is affected by two common
factors:
One is -- luck and other is -- Vastu.
50% luck and 50% Vastu. If your stars are 100% favorable and Vastu
is wrong, you will get only 50% result, even if you try hard. One
can imagine incase both are wrong?
The art of Vastu theory are scientific
and logical are extracted from Atharva Veda and implied in logical
way to select a plot, construct a building / shades.
Either one constructs a Residential
building, Commercial Complex or Industrial Infrastructure. In all
cases Vastu Shastra indicates the implementation of Vedas laws that
provides karma, artha, dharma and moksha to accomplish man, mind and
matter. Man is considered to a God, Mind is creation and Matter is
Nature. It is said that Matter is neither be created nor be destroyed.
Selection Of Plot Has Immense Significance
Such As Gaj Pristh, Datya Pristh, Kachhap Pristh, And nag pristh etc.
beside these vastu examines plot soil, correction of plot in disha

Incase of Industrial Infrastructure,

Numerology
It may surprise you to know that
the combination of the numbers of your birth date can provide valuable
perceptions into your way of being in the world. Today’s numerologist
has the benefit of expanded interpretations of each of the numbers.
These meanings are based on the original arcane meanings (developed
by the Babylonians and applied by the Hebrews) as they were taught
by Pythagoras 2,500 years ago.
Numerology, the science, is based
on the understanding that each number has an inherent vibration which
provides the key to greater self awareness. This 'vibrational quality'
of each number originated before an alphabet was created! When sounds
were originated, they were originally assigned a number as a way of
counting - eventually this numbering system was used by the Babylonians:
King Sargon II, who ruled Babylonia in the 8th Century BC used the
numerical value of his name to determine the length of a wall in the
city.
An authentic and comprehensive work
on the mystery of Numbers as revealed by the ancient masters.
A final word on Numerology and a powerful key to the shaping of your
destiny.
A number is the name of a hidden
law. It enters your life as a vital element. The science of numerology
is the practical application of the fundamental laws of mathematics
to the material existence of man.
The study of numerology has its own
principles, its alphabets, its language, its terminology and its significance.
It explores the occult significance attached to numbers. The character
analysis suggested by him is so fascinating that it reminds us of
the Chinese proverb; it is easier to move a mountain than alter a
person's character.
There is no such thing as Chance.
We have coined this word to express the known effect of every unknown
cause, says Voltaire.
Ancient systems of divination were
originally created by mystics to support self-knowledge and divinely
inspired decision-making. Now they are coming out in a big way. According
to an article,’ “The resurgence of the Numerology is not
a fad, but part of a widespread new-millennium trend. Millions of
satisfied customers are now using forms of divination, like the Numerology,
to help make the most important decisions of their lives. And rather
than using the older technologies of cards or coins, they are casting
for insights into their destiny using computers and the Internet.
As tools for aligning with one’s
personal destiny, divination systems have obvious appeal. The public's
growing interest creates a need to understand how they work, how they
were designed, and how we can get the most benefit from them.
Sometimes people ask me “Do
you really believe in this stuff?” To benefit from a divination
experience, the only thing you need to believe in is your own common
sense. Divination is just a very good way to stimulate your intuition
to think outside the box about problems that logic can’t handle.
If your beliefs prevent you from approaching divination with an open
mind, it won’t work for you. Either divination stimulates
your intuition and creativity, or it doesn’t. Give it a sincere
try. If it works for you, terrific, but you are not required to adopt
any beliefs for it to work. I believe in these as tools for stimulating
the intuition, because they work for me. But no belief -- only a bit
of sincerity -- is required to benefit from their use.
Coincidence - The word coincidence
describes an event in which two or more things come together in time.
In common parlance, the term carries the connotation that although
the event may seem and feel like it was arranged, in reality it was
nothing more than a meaningless accident. People who use divination
believe that there are no accidents. We have learned from experience
that coincidences are never meaningless. In fact, coincidences serve
as signs from above, if you know how to interpret them.
The human ability to notice and decipher
the meaning of events in life is as old as society. Interpreting coincidental
events and natural occurrences -- the proverbial “signs and
omens” of scriptures -- is a well-documented historical fact,
and it continues to this day in our remaining indigenous cultures.
Our second type of divination is a divinely inspired invention that
does not depend upon happenstance. A sacred ritual, it takes a more
deliberate approach.
Unlike the interpretation of signs
and omens, the use of a divination system does not rely on psychic
ability alone. Systems of divination have provided humanity with a
more reliable way to decipher the will of the gods, because they include
a body of knowledge to guide our interpretation. The inspired knowledge
of astrological signs, I-Ching hexagrams and Tarot archetypes was
codified by ancient sages in order to satisfy our natural desire to
make sense of human behavior and feeling patterns, and to help us
develop better timing that is in sync with nature, and as a result
make better decisions in the most important areas of our lives.
Through divination systems, we have
been gifted with symbolic languages to interpret divine will. The
symbols and archetypes that form the heart of all divination systems
represent the dynamics of human life, including social and political
interaction. Because it uses the language of archetypes, divination
becomes more than a meditation technique. It can provide insights,
timely advice and directions from the divine. The question of how
divination works has been taken up by a wide array of people, from
philosophers to educators, psychologists to skeptics. Opinions have
come from a broad spectrum of self-appointed experts -- from new age
gurus to religious fundamentalists. Some fundamentalists purport the
“fallen angel” theory -- that the devil possesses diviners
in order to lead people away from God. Then there’s the order
out of chaos theory promulgated by skeptics. We have such an urgent
need to find order for ourselves in this chaotic world, that we are
naively susceptible to inventing meaning in an oracle’s random
patterns.
In terms of managing the practical
affairs, looking for meaning in synchronistic events actually works
better than striving to make predictions according to linear thinking
or statistical probabilities. Wise ancient observers, who lacked our
computational and record-keeping technologies, put their observations
to work through the I-Ching, Astrology, Tarot, Runes and Numerology.
Using the magic of applied synchronicity within a rich set of traditional
archetypes, they strove to understand and cooperate with the way events
are destined to unfold, the way things go together in time.
Even though we can investigate and
explore the realms of the mysterious -- and even use mystical tools
in our personal quest for wisdom -- it is likely that they will never
be “proven” in the scientific sense of the word. It helps
to understand the interconnectedness of all things, the Synchronicity
Principle and the power of archetypes, but the best proof is how well
divination helps you make better decisions, have better relationships
and less stress.
It also includes some basic details
about numerology, the important numbers, their calculations and the
attributes assigned not only to each number but also to each alphabet.
Numerology is the art and science
of interpreting how numbers influence our lives and destinies. Over
2,000 years ago, Pythagoras, the father of geometry, believed the
key to understanding the universe was concealed in the science of
numbers. By identifying and interpreting their hidden meaning and
symbolism, one can gain insights into the past, present, and future.
Today, numbers continue to hold a special place in our lives--birth
dates, anniversaries, and, of course, our own personal "lucky"
numbers. By studying your own unique set of numbers, you have within
your grasp the tools to identify and examine the inherent and powerful
forces that influence your life and the lives of those around you.
It will enable you to make your own
numerical chart and analyze your character, know your past, present
and future, and your right vocation. It will, help you achieve happiness
and success, be it in love, marriage or business.
Secrets of Numerology, written in
a language the general reader can understand, unfolds the Indian system
of this occult science, which has been found more accurate than its
western counterpart. Based on true life-cases, it shows that given
the name and date of birth of a person, the pattern of his whole life
can be foretold.
It presents methods by which the
reader can make his own numerical chart and analyze his character,
know his own past, present, and future. Knowing the physical, mental
and emotional forces at work in his life he could mould his future.
It shows how to know one's right
vocation, lucky numbers, colors. It also suggests stones to wear for
success in love, marriage or business, as well as a technique of changing
one's name to influence one's own circumstances - sometimes even within
six months. Often a mere change in the spellings of one's name is
enough to bring about good results.
Of the sciences of prediction, numerology
is the easiest to learn and the simplest to practice. An aid to the
study of character and personality, it helps you to lead life more
successfully, avoiding the pitfalls.
We exist in a universe of vibrations,
and every person in this world has a vibration characteristic to him
that is distinct from others, affecting a person in his or her birth.
The history of the person's life is written in the name and date of
birth. The name that a person is known by since birth contains in
itself the complete character and destiny from birth till death.
The science of numbers helps one
in determining the past, present and future; lucky color, days and
gems; one's vocation; state of health; personality, etc.
Perhaps the stress and strain of
modern-day living leaves you wondering where all this is leading you
to. You would love to gaze into the crystal ball and discover how
best to turn the hidden world of destiny to your advantage. Since
this is not an easy task, here’s a pocket guide series, which
reveals at a glance the science behind the secret.
The Symbology of Numbers -- Understanding
the symbology of numbers can be of a great help to others in learning
many aspects of themselves. Within Symbolism, numbers do not only
mean quantities, as in the use of mathematics, but also in ideas,
and each with its own particular meaning and force.
All numbers spring forth from the
Number 1, which is the very first point of expression, from the non-manifest
into the manifest.
With every birth a soul is born into
this world. Every name at birth contains within a divine command.
There are many Numerologists who believe that our names are written
within 'the book of life' being recorded as a promise of opportunity
and privilege within life (this depends upon the individual using
their vibrations wisely). Numerology also demands a promise from us-to
keep and hold faith with the mission that has been written within
our destiny numbers...
Numerology brings to us through understanding
'a spiritual / religious awakening' it is not a system of fortune
telling, it will aid each individual through numerical vibrations
and give us a purpose and mission within life. They are, like all
other of life's systems, a balance of both positive and negative energies
- but there is no such thing as 'a bad number'. Reading a numerology
chart is the easy part, as these are simply the words given to you...
understanding and applying these simple words lie within you - the
individual involved.
Again free-will and choice are given,
unlike many other forms of 'the occult' mysteries. The harder you
pull against your vibrations, particularly the ones that you recognize,
then the harder it becomes to reach your full potential and your destiny...
Once again, numerology is not a fortune telling system.
Gemstones
From the very dawn of civilization,
man has been fascinated by brilliant, shiny, colorful shells, stones
and crystals. Their possession made him more important than others.
Gems have always been regarded as bringers of peace, prosperity and
happiness. Favorable gems bring about name, fame, power and make life
easier. Ancient scriptures from across the world have praised gems
as powerful agents of energy that influence human fate and destiny,
induce good energy and expel the negative energy that produces sickness
and suffering.
In Tantra Sara, a major tantrik scripture,
the human body is stated to be an island of nine gems. These nine
gems known as nav-ratnas correspond with the nine dhatus (ingredients)
of which the human body is composed. The Tantra Sara gives a clear
statement of their correspondence to the nav-ratnas, which is very
helpful in understanding the relationship of gems with the human organism.
Wearing these gems influences the dhatus and the psychophysical well-being.
The puranas present beautiful stories
about the origin of gems and their relationship with the nine planets.
The nav-ratna (nine gems) are divided into two groups:- Precious and
Semi-precious. Diamond, pearl, Ruby, Blue-Sapphire and Emerald are
precious gems whereas hessonite, yellow sapphire, cat’s eye
and coral fall in the category of semi-precious gems. This division
is based neither on the market value of the gems nor on their brilliance,
luster or durability but on their utility and their influence on the
human psyche, body, chemistry and electro magnetic field.
There is no disagreement in the relationship
of gems to planets. Most Indian astrologers and gem therapists agree
on the use of gemstone related to the moon sign (rashi). (The moon
sign means the placement of moon in a particular sign of the Zodiac).
It is not always beneficial to select gemstones just because they
are related to moon sign (rashi). To wear a gem, is to add the energy
of the planet related to the gem and if the planet is badly aspected
it will only add to one’s problems. Hence it is always necessary
to consult a gem therapist or a good astrologer before selecting a
gem.
It is always advisable to wear the
rings of different gems on different fingers. As a general rule, the
ring finger is the best for wearing rings, but as each finger is related
to a particular planet, the ring should be worn on the finger connected
with the planet .This belief is quite popular and sometimes we see
people wearing rings on many fingers. There is also distinction between
the right and left hand: the right hand is solar and the left hand
is lunar. If a person seeks balance in life then he has to wear
a ring with the gem, related with the planets Sun, Mars, Saturn, Rahu
and Ketu on the left hand (i.e solar gems on the lunar hand). The
gems related with Moon, Mercury, Venus and Jupiter should be worn
on the right hand. Hence wearing gems on the appropriate fingers,
would bring good health, prosperity, name and fame, saves one from
wild animals, accidents, evil effects of poison and negative effects
of ill-aspected planets.
For healing, the field of energy
medicine has undergone a transformation. When I began my exploration
of these powerful healing tools, energy medicine in its various forms
was practiced in the West by a few pioneering physicians and enjoyed
by a relatively small number of people looking for alternatives to
conventional medicine. While the ancient science of acupuncture was
taking root in Western medical offices, practices such as homeopathy
and Reiki were at the crest of a wave that would soon sweep the West.
Since then, a minor revolution has
taken place. The paradigm on which energy medicine practices are based
has become more widely accepted. This paradigm sees the human being
as an integral part of a universe in which, on a fundamental level,
matter is a form of energy. In this paradigm, each person is a unique
system of interconnected fields of energy and information. Treatments
used in energy medicine address this most fundamental level of the
human form, affecting the very stuff of which we are made. These treatments
target the underlying causes of illness and discontent, rather than
merely the symptoms. By using this approach, energy medicine aims
not only to improve our health but to transform it. Today this new,
energetic model of the human being and human health is not only embraced
by large numbers of people, it has excited the interest of many physicians
and medical researchers.
Doctors and patients are experiencing
that energy medicine works - often where conventional medicine does
not. Chronic debilitating illnesses, common ailments, aches, pains,
and everything in between have responded to energy medicine practices.
Energy medicine is shedding light on the true nature of health and
disease and offering solutions to seemingly intractable health problems
- often leaving those who practice it healthier and more vital than
they thought possible.
One of the most powerful forms of
energy medicine is gem therapy. Here, too, a change has taken place.
Once relegated to the fringes of the healing arts, the therapeutic
uses of gems were not widely adopted by either doctors or the public.
Offering neither a coherent model of the human being's energetic nature
nor precise therapy protocols and tools, gem therapy practices were
inconsistent at best and ineffective at worst. Today, all that has
changed. Pioneering information and effective new practices are allowing
gem therapy to take its rightful place as a cornerstone of energy
medicine.
Thousands of people around the world
- physicians, homemakers, Olympic athletes, business people, celebrities,
and many others - have come to experience remarkable healing by applying
therapeutic gems with these new methods. Confirmed during over a decade
of clinical experience, these discoveries have yielded gem therapies
that work - both as primary treatments and as complements to other
healing modalities. Emotional maladies, mental complaints, and acute
and chronic illnesses of all kinds have responded to these gem therapies
in unprecedented and exciting ways.
How can therapeutic gems accomplish
all this? Physicists tell us that all matter is energy in physical
form. Gemstones are certainly no exception. Formed over eons, often
at high pressure, the Earth's gemstones embody intense concentrations
of energy. The energetic and physical properties of gemstones are
already employed in many aspects of technology. The ability of crystals
to conduct and transform energy is no longer a foreign idea to us.
For example, every television, quartz clock, portable phone, and personal
computer runs smoothly thanks to Quartz crystals. Today the energetic
properties of gems are also being used to improve people's health
at a fundamental level.
Efforts to use gems for healing have
a long history. In many lands and in many ways, people have sought
to uncover the abilities that lay hidden within the intensely compressed
crystalline structures of gemstones - particularly the ability to
heal. Over the centuries, our attempts have met with varying degrees
of success and failure. Yet, when using gems for health, something
was always missing - for, until recently, we have been unable to discover
a systematic way to unlock the full therapeutic powers of gems and
to achieve consistent, long-lasting results.
To discover why success with gems
for healing was elusive for so long, one place to look is to the gems
themselves. Essential to the success of any form of medicine is the
nature of its therapeutic tools. To be most effective and reliable,
medicine must be pure and high in quality. The purity and quality
requirements of the gems we use for healing parallel those of any
other form of medicine. Meeting these strict requirements can make
or break a gem's therapeutic worth. For gemstone energy medicine to
be effective and consistent, the use of only therapeutic-quality gemstones
is required.
The past sixteen years have also
shown that a gem's shape profoundly affects the way it can express
its energy - and thus its ability to deliver its healing properties.
The ideal shape for a therapeutic gem is the sphere. The spherical
shape unleashes a gem's potential to reach and heal the deepest energetic
aspects of our being, where the root causes of disease and distress
lie. Therapeutic gemstone spheres radiate an incomparable energy that
can affect all our dimensions, physical and subtle, and hence heal
and transform our entire being.
Together, these two concepts - the
selection of only the highest quality gems and the use of gems cut
into the proper shape - represent a simple, yet seismic, shift in
the understanding of how gems can work therapeutically. Proper selection,
shaping, and use of gemstones transform them into therapeutic power
tools. The potent healing energy of therapeutic gems can deeply heal
and nourish every aspect of the human form.
Fortunately, enjoying the health
benefits of gemstone spheres is exceptionally easy and straightforward.
Based on this new information, over 100 therapy protocols using gem
spheres have been developed. However, powerful benefits can be obtained
simply by wearing therapeutic gems around the neck. Wearing a therapeutic
gemstone necklace allows the gems' healing energy to penetrate the
deepest levels of the wearer's physical and energetic dimensions.
There, the gems' energy goes to work dissolving energetic blockages
and producing beneficial changes in body, mind, and emotions.
Pearls
Long known as the "Queen of
Gems," pearls possess a history and allure far beyond what today's
wearer may recognize. Throughout much of recorded history, a natural
pearl necklace comprised of matched spheres was a treasure of almost
incomparable value, in fact the most expensive jewelry in the world.
Now we see pearls almost as accessories, relatively inexpensive decorations
to accompany more costly gemstones.
Before the creation of cultured pearls
in the early 1900s, natural pearls were so rare and expensive that
they were reserved almost exclusively for the noble and very rich.
A jewelry item that today's working women might take for granted,
a 16-inch strand of perhaps 50 pearls, of precious metals and stones
are in the news these days -- and not always in a good way. Mountains
are removed to extract gold dust with cyanide leaving behind a toxic,
strip-mined landscape. Diamonds and other gemstones are mined in environmentally
damaging ways, sometimes using child or slave labor. What should you
look for if you like to give or wear jewelry but don’t want
bad juju along with your bling?
Think pearls. They’re a sustainable
aquaculture resource grown in rural Asian communities. Pearl oysters
only thrive in pristine water so pearl farmers; their communities
and the government all have a vested interest in keeping the environment
free of pollution.
For pearl farmers in Asia, pearl
aquaculture is often the only source of income for many families and
their rural communities”, according to pearl expert. “Many
families and communities have a long tradition of aquaculture and
have farmed the waters sustainably for hundreds of years”.
In addition to the pearls, the oyster
meat is an important food source for local residents and the oyster
shells are recycled to create marine habitat and make other products
such as buttons and calcium supplements. Every part of the oyster
is used.
Pearls have been a source of beautiful
jewelry for millennia. Now they’re also the best choice for
socially and environmentally conscious individuals when choosing jewelry.
Pick pearls not only for their beauty, but for a clean conscious and
a cleaner environment. Often costs between $500 and $5,000. At the
height of the Roman Empire, when pearl fever reached its peak, the
historian Suetonius wrote that the Roman general Vitellius financed
an entire military campaign by selling just one of his mother's pearl
earrings.
No one will ever know who were the
earliest people to collect and wear pearls. George Frederick Kunz,
whom I like to call America's first gemologist, in his 1908 masterpiece,
The Book of the Pearl, states his belief that an ancient fish-eating
tribe, perhaps along the coast of India, initially appreciated the
shape and luster of saltwater pearls, which they discovered while
opening oysters for food.
Pearls, like nothing on Earth, encapsulate
the energy and purity of the oceans. ‘The Queen of Gems’
are organic but they are also, unlike any other gemstone, formed and
born from within their mother: the Pearl oyster.
Pearls are the official birthstone
for June and Zodiac gemstone for Gemini and Cancer. They are given
as gifts on the 1st, 3rd, 12th and 30th wedding anniversaries and
are most importantly the traditional attire of a bride on her wedding
day. Swathed in mystery, legend and lore, the ‘Tears of Aphrodite’

symbolizes a happy marriage and in many countries are used as a wedding

a result of luster, size, how they were grown, color and type. Natural
pearls are the most expensive, followed by cultured pearls. Fresh
water pearls tend to be relatively inexpensive.
Fake pearls is usually either too

In these pages the story of the pearl
is told from its birth and growth under tropic seas, through the search
for it by dark skinned divers of the Orient and its journeying by
the hands of men who traffic in precious things, until it becomes
finally the cherished familiar of the great. Historical and traditional
allusions, the sentiment and superstitions, the romance of ancient
and noble associations, drawn to it through the ages, are garnered

which render others less valuable are described in detail, that owners
and buyers may appreciate at their true value of the gems they have
or would purchase and the market price of all kinds is given.
Long time has been given to microscopic
research and though much remains to be learned of the genesis of the
pearl, it is hoped that something of value has been added to the knowledge
of Nature's wonderful and curious processes whereby through the humblest
she makes a jewel fit to adorn the most beautiful of her creatures
woman.
Pearls, one of the highly esteemed
gems, are very valuable due to the high demand and prices for them.
Several countries bordering the Indian and Pacific Oceans and some
countries along the Eastern Atlantic Ocean have pearl oyster resources.
Many of these countries, particularly those in Asia, are very much
interested in pearl oyster farming and pearl culture. Japan stands
foremost in the two fields having developed technologies and innovations
in the field.
