GEMINI

Flag of Gemini

Flag

The Flag of Gemini is orange-yellow. This vivid color emancipates, creates interaction and is predisposed to contacts. It evokes intensive searching. Yellow is the most open, youthful and joyful color. It is directed toward the future, being sociable and restless-eccentric and quick. It demolishes limitations by making distances appear shorter. When painted yellow, objects reflect the light and attract attention. Yellow can correspond to the form of a six-rayed star, running out in the sides.

Symbol - Twins

Gemini’s symbol is based on the twin stars Castor and Pollux in the constellation of Gemini. It is literally the Roman numeral II, and the theme of duality is the key to the meaning of this sign.

Comparison with its symbol

Geminis are said to have a dual nature, as symbolized by twins. This duality also represents exchange and interaction. The sign of Gemini is closely associated with exchange of ideas, communication, and trade. The sign of Gemini is thought to be very adaptable and flexible, sometimes to the point of "being" two different personalities. The glyph for Gemini depicts two lines joined together, showing the symbolism of the twins, and the duality of the nature of the sign.

Color

The Gemini character is mercurial. Clear YELLOWS, GREENS and BLUES, plus the mercurial silvers and grays appeal to most Gemini people. As an air sign, light, pure sky blue is their soul color since it brings out their mind qualities. But never being one to be stuck with only one choice they'll also opt for other bright, clear colors like yellow, spring green, even pink when they're feeling mischievous. With Mercury as a ruler, they can also aim for the silver grey. Look to a bright, open house where fabrics, wall colors and accessories are changed with the seasons.

Gemini people tend not to have too many attachments, so don't expect the home to be filled with antiques or objects kept for their sentimental value. Much more suited to the Gemini character would be well-designed  and fairly simple contemporary furnishings including dual-purpose pieces so that they can easily ring the changes from time to time.

Gemini

Gemini, the sign of the Twins, is dual-natured, elusive, complex and contradictory. On the one hand it produces the virtue of versatility and on the other the vices of two-facedness and flightiness.

Gemini, the most northerly constellation of the zodiac, is dominated by the two bright stars that represent the heads of the Twins. The ancient Babylonians referred to the constellation as Mastabba Galgal, the 'Great Twins', and commemorated within it the mythical friendship of Gilgamesh and Enkidu, who fought against the gods in twelve adventures. Little is known of the Egyptian interest in the constellation (they referred to it simply as the 'Two Stars'), yet we know that the Greek Hero Hercules evolved from Egyptian origins and we can assume that their traditions lingered in the Greek recognition of the two stars as Hercules and Apollo - the tale of Hercules, of course, being closely associated with the labors of Gilgamesh.

The sign of Gemini is ruled by the planet Mercury. Physically it is related to the hands and lungs. It is said to have a masculine nature, and is therefore more outwardly oriented in its energy expression. It is an Air sign, and this means that it is connected with communication, mental contact and social principles. It is also a Mutable sign which enhances flexibility and adaptability. Planets placed in this sign will often reflect on personal intelligence, bringing a tremendous curiosity and a need to exchange ideas with other people in a social environment.

A Gemini Ascendant indicates individuals with adaptable personalities and, in many cases, wiry, flexible physiques as well. Their adaptability can extend to conscious or subconscious imitations of personality traits or the physical appearance of those they admire. Sign's element is Air. Gemini is ruled by the planet Mercury. Gemini is highly adaptable and likes change and variety. They are restless and very clever with the use of their hands. Gemini is versatile, fickle, intelligent, creative, quick, neat, and curious. Gemini learns quickly and has the ability to get a good education.

Key Planet - Mercury

Mercury, the Messenger of the Gods, moves around the Sun faster than any other planet. He symbolizes our thoughts - not only how we think, but how we communicate. In fact, Mercury is in charge of all language. Mercury acts to process large volumes of information within our essential being --as represented by the sun. It allows a person to think, discriminate, express oneself and to move about. This has been called an animator of movement and is associated with our nervous system: the communication and transportation system within our bodies.

As the key planet of Gemini, Mercury is restless and changeable. It drives us to talk and to listen, but not necessarily to action. Mercury tends to make a person verbose, critical, and high strung; the person born under the sign ruled by this planet may even give Leo a run for his money in the egotistical department.

Gemini Greatest Strength: Their curiosity about a variety of interests.

Gemini Possible Weakness: Distracting themselves from what it is.

Element - Air

The astrological element of air represents movement. And the most efficient movement between two points is often a thought. Air signs are thinkers. They emphasize the intellect over other functions. With active minds and a good command of language, the air signs are the natural born communicators. They can be light and breezy as the breath of spring, but their words can also carry the power of a gale force wind.

The air of Gemini is always changing direction. First the winds blow one way, then another. It's a metaphor for how our mind solves a puzzle, first thinking one way and then trying a different approach. This is a restless and searching wind.

Third House - Communication

The Third House symbolizes all aspects of communication - and most communication happens within our immediate environment. Therefore this is also the house of our surrounding. Traditionally, this includes the type of interactions that happen between siblings, whether or not they actually have any. It also represents quick trips and short-distance travel.

Origin

Gemini is symbolized by twins. In Greek astrology, those twins were Castor and Pollux, twin stars in the sky and heroic brothers in myth. Castor was a great horseman, and Pollux was a champion boxer (ironic, because Gemini is not normally a violent sign). More commonly, the twins are thought of as bright children, which gives Gemini a sense of mirth, innocence, and great wonder.

Gemini is ruled by the planet Mercury, which symbolizes great intelligence, communication (Mercury was the Messenger of the gods), eloquence, inquisitiveness, diversity, travel, speed, and changeability. If they are a Gemini, Wednesday is their lucky day (mercredi in French), and their best color is likely to be silver or gray.

The brightest deep sky object of Gemini is M35, an open cluster of 5th magnitude, 2800 light-years from earth. It is northwest of η Geminorum, near the western edge of the constellation.

Since this constellation is easily viewable as two parallel stick figures, considering faint stars visible to the naked eye, it was associated with the myth of Castor and Polydeuces (also known as the Dioscuri). A myth of these twins heavily concerns cattle theft, and may be connected to early views of the Milky Way, as a herd of dairy cows or cattle, by which they are situated.

The orientation of the constellation can vary (since they readily form stick figures whether leaning right or left), though the twins are usually viewed as left leaning. However, when right leaning, one of the twins resides in the Milky Way, and the other outside it, a situation making it appear that one of the twins is stealing the cattle, and the other is observing. In this situation, together with the area of the sky that is deserted (now considered as the new and extremely faint constellations Camelopardalis and Lynx), and the other features of the area in the Zodiac sign of Gemini (i.e. Orion, Auriga, and Canis Major), this may be the origin of the myth of the cattle of Geryon, which forms one of The Twelve Labours of Herakles.

Sun in Gemini

May 21 - Jun 20: Here the Sun focuses the spotlight upon the natives intellectual capacity. There is often a need for recognition of one's genius and wit and there is a constant motivation for self expression. They are very talkative and keenly alert. Frequently these individuals become teachers in grade school or professors at the college level. They need to be in charge of making decisions to feel fully appreciated. They dislike the rigid ness of authority and the bureaucratic mentality because they are capable of seeing situations from many angles more easily than most. These natives are often just as interested in collecting information as they are in sharing it. Curious to a fault, Geminis have a finger in every pie.

Solar Geminis are flexible and changeable people. Their ability to adapt quickly to new situations generally gains them plenty of friends and social contacts. Usually quite clever and witty, Geminis enjoy intellectual conversations and they are easily bored if they are not getting enough mental stimulation.

Often quite adept at fitting in with others, Geminis easily adopt the moods of those around them. They are friends to people from all walks of life, and are not easily intimidated. Their ability to detach themselves can make Geminis very objective and observant, but a little difficult to get close to. Although they often have many friends, intimacy doesn't come as easily to Solar Geminis.

It can be difficult to know what Gemini really feels at any given moment. They are often very impressionable and scattered. There is usually a nervous air to Geminis that can make more personal characters a little uneasy. It is not always intuitive to trust Geminis to be loyal or to keep secrets.

Geminis often flit about, moving quickly and keeping busy every step of the way. Many people with this position of the Sun have gained quite a bit of knowledge in their lifetimes, but they don't often possess specialized knowledge. This is because Geminis have relatively short attention spans. Restlessness is especially common with this position of the Sun.

Usually quite affable, Geminis enjoy the "light" side of life. This tendency to take things lightly makes them quite pleasing to be around; but it can be maddening to people seeking support on the deeper issues in life.

In a diurnal chart, the heat emphasizes greater activity and nervousness. There is less animosity for authority and they themselves often become authoritative. The inherent duality of Gemini is tempered by a sense of order and hierarchy. The mind is highly geared toward analysis and making distinctions between things.

In a nocturnal chart, the cool and moistness of night blurs distinctions, and thought processes become more relational than analytical. Here the duality of Gemini is amplified by the dyadic "Other" and ones sense of self identity and esteem may be lacking under difficult circumstances. Authority is usually despised and feared to some extent.

Geminis are both interesting and interested. Their wit can be dazzling and their changeability dizzying. At the very least, Geminis will seldom bore they.

Some Famous People with Sun in Gemini: Mel Blanc (Sun and Moon in Gemini), Drew Carey, Courteney Cox (Sun and Mercury in Gemini), Johnny Depp, Melissa Etheridge, John Goodman (Sun, Moon, and Venus in Gemini), Steffi Graf (Sun, Moon, and Mercury in Gemini), Elizabeth Hurley (Sun and Mercury in Gemini), Nicole Kidman, Anna Kournikova (Sun and Mars in Gemini), Lenny Kravitz, Marilyn Monroe (Sun and Mercury in Gemini), Prince William (Sun and Mercury in Gemini), Brooke Shields (Sun, Moon, and Venus in Gemini).

Moon in Gemini

The Moon represents one's domestic situation; it indicates a great deal of restlessness, with frequent changes of residence and many trips. They are very adaptable to changes in their environment. However, they are nervous when emotional issues come up. The main reason that the Moon in Gemini indicates emotional detachment, physical overextension and sometimes lack of sensitivity, is because the Moon is in the 12th sign (house) from its own domicile (Cancer), and the 12th sign/house indicates those qualities that get ignored, and put away. The Moon also represents the physical body. Therefore the Moon in Gemini represents ignoring feelings, sensitivities, taboos, sometimes health, etc. The reason the 12th represents qualities that get ignored is because the 12th sign/house is the joy of Saturn which represents the principle of agnoia (ignorance or ignoring).

Lunar Geminis are usually pleasant, witty, and charming people. At home and with family, however, they can be moody and irritable at times. People with Moon in Gemini are always interesting people -- they have a finger in every pie, are curious to a fault, and are generally well-informed.

Nervousness and worry are common traits with this lunar position. An underlying restlessness is common, and many Lunar Geminis need more stimulation than others. They usually read a lot, talk a lot, and think a lot with this airy, mutable position of the Moon.

Their homes are often a perpetual work-in-progress. They generally dislike housework, but are big on home improvement. Re-organizing their homes in little -- and sometimes big -- ways seems to keep them happy, as Lunar Geminis are easily bored by both routine and constancy. Often, this is a reflection of their inner world --" the grass is always greener -" applies here. Inwardly, Lunar Geminis are often unsettled. Moon in Gemini parents are generally more adept at handling the intellectual needs of their children than emotional ones. Others' complicated emotions, in general, can be difficult for Lunar Geminis to handle. In their families, Lunar Geminis often take on the role of organizing get-togethers. They are at their best when they have plenty of things to do beyond routine.

Moon in Gemini people almost always have a way with words. They are clever and witty, and more often than not can be found chatting with others. They are sociable and friendly, and feel comfortable in crowds. Some pay too much attention to what everyone else is doing, and lose touch with what they really want to do. Generally, Lunar Geminis have a million and one projects going. They are impressionable folk, and their imagination is boundless.

Their openness to new ideas is admirable, although decisiveness and persistence take a blow as a result. Still, versatility and adaptability are some of the stronger traits of this position of the Moon.

When irritable, these people can easily become snappy. Their moodiness is complicated -- this is not the same kind of moodiness they'll find with water sign moons, for example. Usually, difficult behavior stems from inner restlessness. Lunar Geminis want to do it all, and have trouble sticking to any one project.

When problems arise, the first instinct of Moon in Gemini natives is to talk things out. Their tendency to analyze can give them the appearance of emotional detachment. In fact, Lunar Geminis may be especially comfortable talking about their feelings, but feeling their own feelings doesn't come as easily. Those that don't take time out to really emote and understand their own needs may end up baffling others. Feeling misunderstood is common for Moon in Gemini natives. The only real solution to the problem is learning to get in touch with their own feelings.

In a diurnal chart, the emotions are often subject to repression and/or analysis. There is an attempt to make sense of the emotions in a logical manner. This is because the excess heat of the day is prone for making distinctions and analysis of individual parts. Sometimes a talent for psychoanalysis and dream interpretation is present. They can be very practical and resourceful.

In a nocturnal chart, the dyadic contriarial nature of both the Moon and the duality of Gemini feed off each other. Frequently there is a tendency to take an idea or problem and work every possibility to exhaustion. Some of these individuals are very bright and have insights that they cannot explain very clearly in words. Often they suffer from a certain amount of instability in the domestic situation and in relations with women.

Stars

The twin to the right is Castor, whose brightest star is alpha Geminorum (more commonly called Castor), is of the second magnitude, and represents Castor's head. The twin to the left is Pollux, whose brightest star is beta Geminorum (more commonly called Pollux), is of the first magnitude, and represents Pollux's head.

The constellation of Gemini ("The Twins") is a familiar pattern in the night sky. It is one of the most prominent and the most northerly of the Zodiac constellations. Various cultures have perceived the stars as twins -either as gods, men, animals or plants. Gemini lays in a southerly direction, found above and to the left of Orion the Hunter. It consists of two long lines of stars, each of which is topped with a bright star. Castor (also known as the Alpha Gem) and Pollux (also known as Beta Gem), the two major stars, are close together and farthest to the left of this constellation, representing the heads of the Twins. Castor, blue-white in color, was the first star to be recognized as a binary or double pair, one of which is slightly brighter than the other. It takes approximately 350 years for the fainter star to circle once around the brighter one. Pollux, the seventeenth brightest star in the heavens, is similar in many ways to the Sun. It is about the same color and temperature, but is brighter and larger. Pollux appears as a white star to the naked eye, but actually emits a yellow light. It is rare to have two stars of such similar brightness so close together in the sky. The Ancients considered Castor and Pollux to be equally brilliant, but today, astronomers have noted that Pollux has become somewhat brighter and it is believed that this star may possibly be reaching the point where it expands to a red giant -thus finally ending its life cycle.

This constellation is home to a number of impressive star clusters, including the "Eskimo" or "Clown-Faced" Nebula, first spotted by William Herschel, who likened it to a person's hooded head. In addition, the Milky Way flows nearby. Excepting Castor and Pollux, other named stars within the constellation of Gemini include: Wasat (whose name means "middle"), a white and purple star located on the right arm of Castor; Mekbuda (also known as the the "Zeta Gem"), which shines with a yellow-white light and has been likened to a lion's folded paw; Alhena (sometimes referred to as "Al Hena"), the third brightest star of the constellation, brilliant white in color and located in the left foot of Castor; Propus, a relatively dim star positioned in front of Castor's forward foot; Mebsuta (one of the heavens' rarities since it is a cool Glass G Supergiant), the constellation's fifth brightest star and likened to a lion's outstretched paw; and Tejat (also known as Dirah), a double star, crocus yellow and blue in color, located in the right heel of Castor. Gemini's nearby constellations (in addition to the already mentioned Orion) are Auriga the Charioteer, Taurus the Bull, Monoceros the Unicorn, Canis Minor the Little Dog, Cancer the Crab and Lynx the Lynx.

Mercury in Gemini

Mercury is the steward for this house. Because of this essential dignity, many of these natives are capable of intricate logical thought. They are very glib, accurate, eloquent, and knowledgeable in many disciplines. Communication comes easily, and they have an extensive vocabulary. Physically, they have a hypersensitive nervous system. As a result, they often suffer from nervous headaches, and fatigue. These natives have a gift for science, mathematics, writing, lecturing, computer science, and teaching.

In a diurnal chart, the mind becomes more analytical and prone to making fine distinctions more easily. This is a good position for engineers, scientists, mathematicians and anything that requires complex logic.

In a nocturnal chart, the mind becomes less analytical and more sensitive to the relationships between ideas. Decision making may be more of a problem because of a blurring of distinctions, making different options seems not all that different. Creativity is heightened.

Venus in Gemini

The old stereotype is that Venus here is indicative of fickleness in love. If the lot of marriage is here or Gemini is in the 7th house, then this may be the case because Gemini is bicorporeal. This bicorporeal nature tends to multiply the instances of whatever signification is expressed. In any case, variety in social life and romantic interests is usually supported, which also means that these individuals have a harder time settling down. These natives think that smart is sexy. If also angular, there is usually an interest in music and poetry.

In a diurnal chart, there is a greater attraction to public life. Connections between people are not as deep but tend to be more numerous. This is because the heat and dryness of the day creates distinctions in relationships asserting appropriate boundaries. Also, the heat creates higher levels of activity in social circumstances.

In a nocturnal chart, the relationships they have with other people are not as superficial or politically based. The cool and moistness of night lowers activity and creates connections, so their social circle will tend to be smaller and more intimate. These natives settle down with more ease than their diurnal counterparts.

Mars in Gemini

These natives usually have a great deal of nervous energy. If Mars is in one of the pivots, then it indicates those who become athletes with great agility and speed. Sometimes it is cited that relation with siblings are strained because it is said by modern astrologers that Gemini has to do with relations with brothers and sisters. This is probably not the case if this is the only indicator. Instead look for the lot of brothers (or siblings) and see if Mars or Saturn aspect the lot by Ptolemaic aspect and by whole sign. Do the same with Venus and Jupiter. Also note whether the lot falls amiss, or is in the sign of a benefic or a malefic (signs ruled by Saturn or Mars and vice-versa). If the lot falls amiss the native is either an only child or is not close to siblings. If in the sign of a malefic and aspect only by malefics then there is acrimony; if by benefices, then the opposite. Mars here also shows those who like to act on their ideas and bring them into practical reality. It is a good position for those inclined to solve problems like engineers, mechanics and computer programmers. If Mars governs Fortune, the Moon, or the ascendant, then the native may be prone to accidents that injure the extremities.

In a diurnal chart, the heat creates problems with excess energy and activity possibly leading to a higher incidence of injury. If this energy can be harnessed effectively, then the native is capable of great feats of accomplishment. If not, then it can lead to criminal intent and recklessness. It also creates dare devils, thrill seekers, and those who love risk.

In a nocturnal chart, the energy of Mars is reduced by the cool and moist of the night. These natives have an easier time training their energy properly so that it does not lead to injury. Actions are more deliberate and carefully thought out. This is an excellent position for military commanders and those who plan assaults.

Jupiter in Gemini

According to medieval and later astrologers, Jupiter is in debility here. Elementally though, they appear to be in agreement because air (Gemini) is warm and moist and so is Jupiter. These natives seem to suffer from the dilemma between facts and faith, and between seeing and believing. It seems to indicate a struggle for perspective because the lord of this place (Mercury) focuses on the details, whereas Jupiter focuses on the big picture. Frequently these natives show an interest in philosophy, religion, education and law. Modern astrologers say that these natives have the opportunity for expansion of the mind, which makes sense considering the inherent dilemma in this position.

In a diurnal chart, theoretically, faith gains ground over reason in the natives life. This is because Jupiter is in sect and is more heavily emphasized. While the different possibilities are magnified, there is still enough heat to make appropriate distinctions. The daylight has always had connotations toward the good, whereas night, towards the evil.

Theoretically, in a nocturnal chart, the opposite is the case, and reason should prevail over faith. The moistness of the night blurs distinctions. Doubt, second-guessing and indecision in uncertain matters is a logical outcome. This is because Jupiter is out of sect, but still magnifies the possibilities, all of which tend to be micromanaged.

Saturn in Gemini

Saturn functions through the mind here because Mercury is its disposition. Saturn is a planet of dryness and melancholy, so there may be a tendency for depression in some of these natives. The dryness is conducive to scientific pursuits where reason and logic are supported by fine distinctions. There is discipline and rigor in thinking processes and there is great potential for scholarship. They usually prefer an orderly office and environment. Many accountants, writers, researchers and professors have Saturn here.

In a diurnal chart, Saturn functions as lord of the air trigon and brings a very positive outcome. Depression is minimized and usually just becomes soberness, because the heat of the day burns off the gloom. The mind is productive towards education and scholarship. The native is talented in engineering, mathematical and scientific pursuits.

In a nocturnal chart, Saturn has difficulty because the distinctions which lead to problem solving are harder to come by (The wetness blurs these distinctions). There can be bouts of depression caused by the coolness of the night which leads the mind towards inactivity and idleness. Because Saturn does not know when to quit in the darkness, there is often a tendency to overwork.

Uranus in Gemini

This generation probably has more than its share of geniuses. Uranus is the planet representing the higher mind and lightning fast insight according to modern astrologers. Gemini provides little contrast, being a sign associated with the intellect and wit because of its stewardship by Mercury. Obviously, not everyone born during this 7 year period will be ingenious, but if they have close conjunctions or aspects from personal planets in this sign, they are likely to have a special talent according to the nature of that planet. There are a lot of talented electrical engineers born during the last transit of Uranus in this sign. When this generation grew up in the mid 60's, Uranus entered Virgo and the counterculture revolution was born, ushering in many unconventional thinkers. In general, this is a very unpredictable combination due to the mutable nature of Gemini and the instability that Uranus signifies.

In a diurnal chart, the hot and dry nature is amplified. Uranus will be operating more in accordance with its true nature. They may consciously allow for variety and change and may actively seek stimulating intellectual challenges.

In a nocturnal chart, the hot and dry nature associated with Uranus is muted to some extent, perhaps leading to greater stability. The mind may be more subject to associative thinking rather than analysis.

Neptune in Gemini

Neptune is the planet of dreams, illusions and vision. The last time Neptune was in this sign was in the late 1800's.  When H. G. Wells wrote "The Time Machine", and it was the beginning of all sorts of ideas relating to how technology can bring the world closer together. The telephone and automobile were becoming a reality at this time; both are Mercurial inventions brought about by a grand vision. Those individuals with close conjunctions and aspects to Neptune in this sign were in many cases instrumental in starting this revolution. However, in many cases these mercurial ideas did not have a very realistic or practical application. Such is the influence of Neptune.

In a diurnal chart, the heat and dryness theoretically counteract the cool and wet nature of Neptune. Conversely, a nocturnal chart would seem to amplify the effects of Neptune in this sign (or any sign).

Pluto in Gemini

Pluto was in this sign last at the same time Neptune was during the late 1800's (1891 was the conjunction at 9 degrees Gemini). Pluto is said to deal with generation and corruption. It fits nicely with the changes seen around this time associated with technology. In fact, the conjunction of Neptune and Pluto every 492 years seems to represent the birth and death of civilizations. This may be because in the history of the last several thousand years, Neptune and Pluto has always reached a conjunction in this sign (Gemini has been associated with the first signs of civilization and literary works such as Beowulf, etc).

Because Pluto's sect nature is undetermined, it does not seem useful to speculate about its significations in this area.

Astrology

The Western astrological sign of Gemini forms part of the tropical zodiac (May 21 - June 20) and of the sidereal zodiac (June 15 - July 16). Note that according to the IAU, the sun enters the constellation at June 21 and leaves it at July 21, however, these dates are based on the currently defined borders of Gemini which were purely drawn for navigational purposes without consideration for use by astrology.

In tropical astrology it is associated with the decorated floral profusion of late spring and early summer. In sidereal astrology it is associated with the constellation Gemini and the Greek myth of Castor (or Kastor) and Pollux.

Gemini is associated with the classical element Air, and thus called an Air Sign (with Libra and Aquarius). It is also one of the four mutable signs (along with Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces). Its polar opposite is Sagittarius. It is the domicile of Mercury. Each astrological sign is assigned a part of the body, viewed as the seat of its power. Gemini rules the nervous system, the lungs, the hands and arms.

Mythology

This sign stems from the Tale of Castor and Pollux. The twins were raised by the centaur Chiron (now the constellation Sagittarius) and later joined Jason and the Argonauts in search of the Golden Fleece.

Eventually they decided to take wives and selected the two beautiful daughters of the king of Sparta.  Now it happened that the two women were already married to Idas and Lynceus, cousins of the twins.  But this seems to have made little difference to the Twins.  They simply carried to girls off and settled down with them.  The two cousins were not bothered by this.  A few years later, the cousins, in friendly company of the Twins, made a joint raid on some cattle.  It is said that trouble between the two pairs of thieves began when the tried to divide the cattle among themselves.

Idas had the solution.  He hacked one of the cows into four equal pieces and said that whichever two individuals completely finished eating their quarters first would divide the spoils.  This took the Twins off guard and they watched helplessly as their two cousins wolfed down their quarters of the cow.  Idas and Lynceus then drove off the entire heard.

Tricked, Castor and Pollux vowed to get even with their cousins.  Within a few days they set out after the two cousins to recover their share of the cattle.  During the fight that followed, Idas killed Castor with a spear.  Infuriated over the loss of his twin brother, Pollux chased his cousins and killed Lynceus with a single blow. Just as Idas was about to hurl a tombstone at Pollux, Zeus came to Pollux's aid and hurled a thunderbolt at Idas, killing him on the spot. Pollux, the immortal son of Zeus, begged to die so that he would not be separated from his brother.  Not even the mighty Zeus could do such a thing so he placed them together in the sky as the constellation Gemini, the twins.

In Greek mythology, Castor &  Pollux were twin heroes. The two were born from an egg laid by Leda after she was seduced by Zeus in the disguise of a swan. Yet it was said that Pollux was the son of Zeus, and Castor was the son of Tyndareus.  The two brothers were good companions and became gods, patrons of athletes and protectors of sailors at sea.  Castor & Pollux had power over the winds and waves.  Castor became famous as a rider of horses while his brother Pollux became equally skilled at boxing and fighting battles.

The two brothers, Pollux and Castor, took part in many adventures (i.e. they were involved in the Jason and Argonauts Golden Fleece thing). One day in battle, Castor (the mortal brother) was about to die. So Pollux asked his father, Zeus, for the permission to die along side of Castor. It was Pollux's great desire that the brothers might remain united even in death. Instead of allowing Pollux to die, Zeus decided the two brothers would now share in the immortality of Pollux and remain together forever. However, in order for this to happen, Pollux and Castor would have to forever alternate between the light and the dark. For the rest of eternity, the brothers would spend one day on Olympus and then the next day in Hades.

Twin children the Castor and Pollux of Roman mythology symbolize the star Gemini. In Roman mythology Mercury is the god of commerce, travel and thievery, the Roman counterpart of the Greek god Hermes, the messenger of the Gods. The planet probably received this name because it moves so quickly across the sky. It was given two names by the Greeks: Apollo for its apparition as a morning star and Hermes as an evening star. Greek astronomers knew, however, that the two names referred to the same body.

Characteristics

Analytical & capable of making quick decisions.
Have the capacity to adapt to any circumstance.
Have ultra modern out look.
Quick to adapt innovations.
Always easy going and good humored.
More governed by mind than emotions.

They may have a tendency to criticize, complain, be ungrateful, and be wishy washy.

Their good qualities include: Adaptable, congenial, expressive, and clever. Learning to make a firm decision and sticking to it could be their life’s work.

Gemini, the Sign of the Twins, is third in the Western Zodiac and extends from May 21 to June 20. It is also an Air Sign. Typical Geminians are very lively and charming, and excellent conversationalists. They are possessed of very active minds and bodies, and are often much younger-looking than they really are. Invention is their stock in trade. On the down side, they are also restless, easily bored, and unable to concentrate on any one thing for a prolonged period of time.

Forever changing their mind at the drop of a hat, they are notoriously undependable. There is also present a tendency to manipulate others to serve their own purposes. But a Gemini will be more than make up for any negative qualities though the sheer scintillating entertainment value of their very presence.

They are magnetic, proud, earthy and well coordinated. A good organizer and reasoned, they want success and are willing to work for it. Because they are so practical, they rarely operate on impulse; thus they can function well in business. Self-control and self-discipline are their keywords. This often brings admiration rather than love from the opposite sex. There may be a separation from a parent, usually the father, and if Mars is afflicted, there is some danger of broken bones. Strong and persistent sexually, they must learn to develop humor, humility and warmth.

Traveling and communication are their forte, so either of these areas will give great satisfaction in both professional or social contexts. Their power of expression is very vivid but don't bore people with their endless chatter, otherwise they might lose opportunities for presenting some of the great ideas they possess.

General Character

Gemini (the twins) is a very complex and confusing sign. They are happy and energetic when things go right for they. Many of Gemini's poorer traits are due to their lack of self-esteem. It is very tough to get their attention. But the most intelligent people on the earth are Geminians. Movement and change are their characteristic signature. Being vital, intelligent, curious and young at heart, they are very much a child by nature - flitting from one scene to another, because of their short attention span.

Even their feelings are very changeable, so settling down may not exactly be their cup of tea. Still, they'll have a lot of friends and could be called a social butterfly. These myriads of feelingswill be filtered through their intellect as Gemini is ruled by Mercury - the planet of nerves and intelligence. They can be selfish, nervous, inconsistent, deceptive, changeable, and confused. They have a weak will-power, and they tend to scatter their forces.

Gemini go everywhere together, hand-in-hand, symbolizing their dual nature. Our world comes in pairs: good and evil, male and female, in and out, yin and yang - and they Geminis are living proof. Some might say Gemini are an entanglement of paradoxes, but the truth is that Gemini have an easy acceptance of opposites. Gemini world is one of duality. Gemini can like this and that, one thing and its opposite. It's like they see their world through a radio and Gemini can tune experiences and points of view in and out as their interests change.

Geminis are curious, talkative, versatile and mentally active. Their mind can bounce around from one topic to another with great ease, making Gemini the champion of cocktail party chatter and lighthearted social encounters. Others will think that Gemini are fun to be with, but their ability to change with the changing winds can also lead others to see Gemini as shallow.

Gemini motto might be "A rolling stone gathers no moss." They are the eternally youthful child, no matter their chronological age. A razor-sharp wit can have they verbally dueling with the very best of opponents, who moments later are their best of friends. As they fly through life, don't forget to take time to smell the flowers.

It is an airy sign, ruled by the planet Mercury. They are very intelligent. They can penetrate deep into the root of any matter and analyze them. They also display a dual character. At one  time they are full of energy and enthusiasm, but before long a sudden change comes over them  and they become cold and lethargic. In their relations with friends they are most undependable. Sometimes they insist that something is right when it is completely wrong. They imbibe things so fast that at times they miss out many important and critical details, which are very essential.  They are attracted to every thing that is modern. Old conventional ways bore them. They are always on the look out for new methods and ways of doing things. They are very clever in inventing things. A well developed Gemini possesses artistic talent of high order.

Gemini rules the hands and arms, lungs, thymus gland and upper ribs.

Systematic life with planned holidays in completely relaxing atmosphere and a good diet can keep them fit for all their life.

Money - There will be a lot of changes as far as finances are concerned. They will experience both situations that is - plenty of resources and also compete lack of resources in their lifetime. Their love life may also be a contributing factor to their losses. Systematic savings and conservative investments will be the best way to get stability in life.

Romance & Sex Life -They are romantic by nature and will have interest in many males in their lifetime They will look for good intellectual compatibility with their partner. An over bearing partner is not for them. It will not be easy for their mate to understand them and their nature of extremes may baffle him. Their partner will have difficult time figuring out what they think and what they want. The male in their life has to be imaginative and not afraid of experimentation if he wants to keep them satisfied.

Gemini females do understand love and romance well and can change their partners with surprising ease. It is not difficult for them to discontinue any relationship that they think is not in their best interests. A highly passionate female that they are, they like to be a leader in the foreplay also. Playing with hair delights them most. The hotspots for Gemini woman are arms and armpits.

They are intelligent, and so they should marry someone who have similar trails otherwise they will not be able to continue their life with him. So, try to find a person who can understand them and would mould himself as per their needs.

For this reason, an arranged marriage where proper care has not been taken to match the horoscopes or to see the inclinations of the girl and boy do not work well for a Gemini girl.

Caution:-Gemini women are very amenable to change and they like lot of changes in their surroundings. This may sometimes lead to more tension and stress in their life. So, try to get more of consistency and less of changes in life.

As a Baby

Eager to get going (this baby probably kicked up a storm in the womb!), the Gemini baby is likely to be talking early and making a mark from day one. Curious and quite the explorer, this tot is one who needs lots of stimuli in order to be happy, as they are easily bored. Since those communication skills are top-notch, the smart thing to do with this baby is bring them into a play group as soon as possible. At home, siblings could easily fill this function, as someone must! It's never too early for the Gemini baby to interact with others, and they will also learn their lessons early on.

The Gemini tot is definitely not clingy. Quite the contrary, this is one baby who is happy to march to their own drummer, gallivanting about and being amused in the process. Surprisingly, when this baby is not engaged (chatting or playing with others), there could be a certain emotional detachment. For that reason, it's best to keep things uncomplicated and easy for them to understand, the better to maintain harmony.

To sum up, the Gemini baby is the Great Communicator of the play group, has a short attention span (so keep 'em busy!), and is one clever and creative tot.

Positive Qualities

First of all, they're a great thinker. Many of the world's intellectuals are Geminis. Their mind is insatiable -- it's so quick on the uptake that they can't understand why everyone else is just now grasping what they got in a split second. In fact, by the time it takes them to catch up with them, their mind has become bored by the inactivity. They've already turned and twisted the knowledge around just to see what would happen, and to keep their mind active.

Some people mistake this playful brilliance as deception or dishonesty, because they can't keep up with them. But they're just trying to keep things interesting. Their mind needs to be fed with new ideas on a constant basis. Having recognized this at an early age, they've become remarkably adept at satisfying it. Wit is their forte. They love to laugh, because they're so good at sharp humor. They're particularly fond of puns and wordplay -- Mercury rules writing, language, and a love of words -- so they're quite the social charmer.

They're popular, and they know it. They enjoy people, and they love to watch them to keep their mind busy. They're at their best at parties, bars, the office water cooler -- anywhere they can find people with whom they can laugh. They thrive on gossip and news -- they need information constantly, more even than food.

They're an avid reader -- again, because of their need for ideas and their love of words. In fact, they're one of the few people who can read a book, watch TV, and talk on the phone all at the same time -- they relish thinking on several levels at once.

They have a natural affinity for word puzzles -- they're unbeatable at Scrabble and a regular crossword solver -- but they should consider using their language talents for more useful purposes. Learn a foreign language, or read more constructively for knowledge that will help they in the real world. They certainly have the aptitude for it-- it's just a question of applying themself.

Many Geminis are multi-talented. The great thinker Jean-Paul Sartre (June 21) was a poet, novelist, and philosopher; John F. Kennedy (May 29) was not only a great president but also a respected author (Profiles in Courage) and one ofAmerica's most gifted intellectuals. The Russian composer Igor Stravinsky (June 5) showed his precocity by penning his most famous pieces at a the young age, then, like a true Gemini, not content to rest on his laurels, continued to innovate and experiment to satisfy his own mind, at the expense of confusing the public. He even lectured on poetry at Harvard.

Negative Qualities

Since Gemini is represented by twins, some people believe the sign has a tendency towards schizophrenia, or at the very worst, a dishonest, two-faced character. The truth is, they're probably just misunderstood. To them, it's natural to think on two levels at once, but others can't understand it. Similarly, their playfulness is easily misinterpreted as deceit, so be careful not to overdo it, and try to be more aware of others' reactions to they. Quite often, they're so busy entertaining, charming, and theorizing that they don't stop to notice the effect of their words -- they're too preoccupied with the next thought to see where the last one went.

As brilliant as their mind can be, they have to work to rein it in. Their attention wanders off a lot, as does their train of thought. Sartre can be lucid and penetrating on one page, then wander off on an errant tangent the next. If they organize their thoughts with more patience, their words will have more power. Otherwise, people are likely to react to them by saying things like, "That's very interesting, but who cares?”.

They tend to be careless in many ways. Gemini is an air sign, ruled by Mercury, both of which represent thoughts and ideas at the expense of feelings and sentimentality. So they are not easily hurt, but they can hurt others without even realizing it. And since they have little patience, they have difficulty spending a long time with one person -- they grow bored too easily -- so their chances of settling down are limited unless they can tame this instinct and learn to appreciate a slower, richer experience. For this reason, divorce rates among Geminians are exceedingly high. (Even in Kennedy's case, his wife Jackie was seemingly ideal from our perspective, yet she was not enough to keep his interest from wandering to the likes of Marilyn Monroe).

Other signs of carelessness in Geminis include chronic unpunctuality, a tendency to change jobs as soon as the current one loses their interest, and a penchant for leaving projects unfinished. They are a sampler of everything, but a master of very few. They just can't seem to devote themself wholeheartedly to one area of expertise, so they never acquire the thorough depth of knowledge required for success in that field. They bob on the surface of life, but rarely dive into it too deeply.

Physical Qualities and Activities

Gemini is an air sign, and the fact that it's ruled by Mercury also indicates speed. So they are most likely to be light and airy in many ways, including physical stature. They are slight and small-boned, but their most distinguishing features are their expressive eyes. They're busy watching everything, so they react a lot, moving from side to side, even expanding and dilating.

They love music, and if they play, it probably involves finger work and air -- the flute is a natural choice for them. Their favorite sport is likely to be tennis -- it involves lots of movement and action, yet not so much that they have to work incredibly hard at it. It's also social -- not only as a way to have fun with a friend, but to see others at a tennis club.

Their sign rules the chest, lungs, arms, and hands, so these areas are particularly susceptible to ailments. They're more likely to get a common cold than other people, so take extra measures to avoid it. They're also prone to nervous disorders, so don't overwork or overdo the caffeine. Light exercise -- tennis, walking, skating, anything involving ease of movement and companionship that doesn't demand hard work or extraordinary skill -- is highly recommended for they.

Physical appearance

Those who are born under the jurisdiction of Gemini are usually slender in build and of average height, or slightly taller. The body shape will almost invariably be somewhat thin with a short trunk and long limbs. The stance is normally erect -straight and upright. Gemini subjects possess a certain litheness of limb and movement, with the arms often seeming to be slim and unusually lengthy, giving the appearance of being loosely connected at the shoulders.

There is also a tendency for Gemini individuals to swing their arms in a long sweeping motion when they walk. Gemini features are finely-chiseled with soft and pleasing proportions. The eyes are normally light in color with extraordinarily dark and long lashes. This will frequently give the Gemini woman a somewhat feline appearance and even the males of this sign often possess eyelashes that would be the envy of any female. The nose is usually straight and narrow (occasionally displaying something of a hook), ranging from long to dainty, but never sharp in character. The chin will normally be well-proportioned and reserved, while the jaw-line itself is often pointed.

The general countenance is one of alertness and intelligence - indeed; there is a high degree of sensibility in all Gemini features. There is also likely to be a fine bone structure associated with Gemini natives which, coupled with light movements, will often set these individuals apart from subjects of other Zodiac Signs. The facial expression of a Gemini individual is frequently charmingly childlike and he or she is quick to smile. The ears tend to be somewhat larger that the accepted norm, but the physique of a Gemini will customarily remain slim even when the food intake begins to cross the limits. The overall look of Gemini individuals is quick-moving and sharp. In general, those governed by this Sign tend to appear years younger than they actually are, being able to wear youthful fashions almost indefinitely with a great deal of success.

The legs of many Gemini natives could be referred to as "birdlike," frequently with visible veins due to the thin character of this Sign's skin. There is seldom any tendency toward overweight for those who are governed by this Sign -due in large part to their abundance of nervous energy. The body of a Gemini subject could probably be best described as wiry, being agile in appearance and well-shaped, although the overall physical character may exude a frail quality. The head is often long and narrow between the ears with a wide mouth and high cheekbones. The hands have a tendency to be small while the fingers are likely to be slender and somewhat longer than average. The face may sport a cleft in the chin -or even the nose, which tends, at times, to emit a reddish tinge. The hair of a Gemini individual is usually finely textured and can be anywhere from light to dark brown in color. However, there is often a tendency toward grayness rather early in life.

The Gemini complexion is usually moderate -neither too fair nor overly swarthy - but is inclined toward the lighter shades. The eyes of a Gemini native are normally very attractive, customarily blue or hazel in color, with eyebrows that seem to naturally form a perfect arch. The teeth may not be overly strong since this Sign has a tendency to lack calcium content. The voice is typically light and frequently high-pitched. - It is not unusual for the tone to even become quite shrill during periods of over-excitement. However, the Gemini voice is a very adaptable one and many natives are excellent mimics. The speech rate of this Sign is usually rapid and there is an unfortunate tendency for Gemini subjects to interrupt the conversations of others. The majority of people born under the jurisdiction of this Sign would be considered handsome individuals. The female is invariably short of stature, while remaining very graceful, and during youth, Gemini subjects are often extremely lean in build, displaying a rather restless manner.

Geminians are agile and fun-loving - a combination which often makes them excellent dancers. Typical mannerisms include a tendency to "fidget" with objects and there are often periods of apparent inattention. They frequently possess superior skill in the use of their hands -handcraft appeals to Gemini subjects - and the nervous energy of their hands, which need to be busy at all times, will find expression in transforming the creations of their brains into realities. On the more negative side, the Gemini character often lacks true strength or stamina, prone to "fall apart" during an emergency  - whether such emergency be real or imagined.

Beauty - As a Gemini, they may get that tired, old split-personality tag - but they're not internally conflicted, Gemini, they're just restless and very often brilliant! This Mutable Air Sign, blessed with all the wit and charm they could need to make it through life on guile alone, does not much interest itself with the day-to-day trappings of a beauty routine. They've got more important things on their mind  - be it world peace, spiritual fulfillment or planning the perfect vacation for their family.

It's their stimulating mind, their expressive hands and that ever-talkative mouth of theirs that garner all of the affectionate attention - people can't help but look at their lovely hands as they gesticulate and make yet another insightful comment. Even though they may chew their nails down to the quick in one of their frequent fits of nervous energy, they keep any flaws hidden well with vibrant nail colors and frequent manicures. If they're not watching their hands, others will unfailingly be watching their mouth for the next witticism.

But it's what goes on in their turbo-powered brain that wins the most admiration; calm that mind down with a lavender-tinged perfume and make-up in shades of pinks and light blues. They gravitate to the new and the progressive and they're not afraid of color. Their beauty comes from their animated intellect, their zest for interaction and their flexible attitude. By not taking themself too seriously, they allow others to see the reality - not a cosmetic facade.

Personality

Geminians are also subject to mental distraction and hovering between alternatives, or attempting to pursue mutually conflicting goals.

Typical Geminis are very lively and charming and excellent conversationalists. They are active mentally and physically. They are restless, easily bored and unable to concentrate on any one thing for a prolonged period of time.

Since they are restless and keep changing their minds, they are notoriously undependable. The intellect dominates Gemini and all things that are intellectual are valued greatly by them. As communication is also important to Geminians, knowledge is never a thing to be hoarded. Geminians are the most versatile of all the sun signs. They will decide on an option and completely change their mind next day. Nothing is ever written in stone by Gemini. They are free soul, driven by curiosity and desire to know. Geminians rarely get deeply absorbed in any one task and anything they haven't touched intrigues them the most.

Sensitive, talkative, vacillating, and sympathetic, must cultivate perseverance, or their restlessness will inhibit true accomplishment. They love to socialize, and they try to avoid deep emotionalism. They are eloquent, love to read and have many hobbies. They can be vague and irresponsible and need a constant change of scene. They should channel their ability and talent for communication so it does not become idle chatter.

They want to be recognized as an important and powerful person. Emotionally, they are supersensitive, and at the same time they are critical of others; however, they are untiring and considerate when they are interested or involved. They are shy and insecure about their own worth; they have many subconscious fears, and they can be oversensitive to real or fancied slights. They seek to justify themself by acting with personal dignity and by their great ambition to succeed. Thus they are neither truly sympathetic nor very emotional. Their mind reacts quickly to sense impressions, but often with anger or antagonism. This can show a morbid and melancholy tendency to brooding, but they can also achieve popularity or even notoriety.

Pure logical reasoning can be carried to its highest here, especially if Mercury is well aspected. They are versatile, unbiased, and impersonal in their ability to perceive the truth. They have an excellent vocabulary at their command; they enjoy learning and are able to communicate well and easily. A highly sensitive nervous system is the basis of their agile mind. They are witty, talkative, charming and interested in everyday affairs. Their thinking is full of dash, flash and lightning, and they often use their hands to express themself. Fond of intellectual pursuits, they could be a writer or a public speaker. They must watch their need for change and novelty, since this can lead to superficiality or a lack of thoroughness.

They enjoy roaming the world and are literate, even poetic. They lack permanence in most of their involvements, and they may have more than one - friendly and detached. They need a lot of freedom.

Romance

The uncertainty of the Gemini temperament does not favor lasting affairs and is the cause of much friction in their love life. They are little swayed by passion, and the only way to retain their fidelity is to meet their varying moods constantly in a fair and unsuspecting manner.

When it comes to love, they are always on the move and can't stand schedules or routine in any aspect of their life. They are a smooth convincing talker and can usually capture any female that interests them through communication alone. Their fun loving nature, passion for parties and entertainment, constant search to experience something new and different contribute to their charm. They tire easily and will take off to pursue new interests if they get bored.

They are generous to their partner in marriage. Their values in romantic matters can be quite superficial, especially if they lack fixed planets in the rest of their chart. They have pleasing manners, good relations with siblings and neighbors, and a great sense of family. Their emotions are on a more mental than feeling level, and they thrive on change and variety. Their nature is curious and they want to taste much of what life has to offer. to be intellectual, and if possible, to have a good sense of humor.

Gemini women are brilliant, sporty, well-informed, dynamic and pleasant.

A love affair with a Gemini requires great stamina, so start doing those push-ups now! The Twins are both fun and funny and love to laugh, play and romp. They are possessed of a very active mind, which can sometimes lead to a short attention span. The best way to keep the Twins around, and aroused, is through mental stimulation. A razor-sharp and imaginative lover is a godsend to the terrific Twins. This sign also values adventure and travel, so a certain footloose and fancy free-ness will help this romance bloom. The duality of the Twins allows them to see both sides of an issue, so in times of stress, they are much likelier to be a lover than a fighter. They will also feel especially connected to those who can help them feel, since they spend so much of their time thinking.

Love and Relation

They are famous for their restlessness, especially in romance. They get bored easily, and as with other things in their life, they like to sample everything and everyone. Their best match is with Libra, who has just enough in common with they and just enough that's different. Their whims and fancies will be much appreciated and understood by the sign that loves to love. They also fare well in long-term relationships with Aquarius, who also is just capricious enough for them. They may find themself attracted to Leos at first, but this pairing is ultimately unstable.

Male

The male Gemini is tall and slim of build - They are always eager for human contact and are friendly and persuasive. They are agile and dexterous, with a quick sharp glance that constantly seeks out new objects to question.

They enjoy working on several projects all at the same time, but their real adversary here is quality control. Their excess nervous energy may manifest itself in boredom. Their versatility leads them to change their life pattern several times over the course of the years. They are known among their sizeable collection of acquaintances for their wit, intelligence and verve. They are also known among their sizeable collection of acquaintances for their wit, intelligence and verve.

Female

The female Gemini is characteristically tall and slim, with long legs and a small bust. They are incredibly agile and restless, and this energy manifests itself in a tendency to talk with their hands a great deal - which comes into play often, as they talk all the time, to everyone.

They are highly optimistic, and prefer to use this outlook to start a career and have a life of their own. They are an incurable romantic, but sometimes despair at ever finding true love. They can be quite cerebral during their infrequent periods of rest. They have a wide variety of interests and goals, and have a wide circle of friends to go along with these interests, conveniently compartmentalized by subject. They are a different person in each of their separate social spheres.

A Gemini female is a delight, witty, charming and provocative. They are not an easy lover to read. They demand mental compatibility in order to be turned on and they won't let anyone dance with their body if they can't dance with their mind. They are always trying to improve things, even their lover/ partner. They will use their sex appeal as a weapon if necessary to get what they want.

An ideal love partner

Gemini - Aries. Gemini who is as mobile as mercury at first sight likes Aries who has got a great energetic potential. Both are vivid, optimistic and full of power. They enjoy the variety of sexual pleasures and are not likely to get bored in bed. Aries is capable of giving exact instructions to Gemini he has the need of. Aries is excited about capricious Gemini rather then irritated. Gemini predicts a gorgeous short-term relationship with good perspectives for a long-lasting alliance.

Gemini - Taurus. Taurus provokes interests of Gemini without a hitch, but scares away with permanency.  Jealous Taurus, possessive by nature, can’t stand a constant desire of Gemini to flirt. Gemini will try to escape from Taurus, who puts limits to their freedom. In sex Taurus is too ordinary for Gemini and Taurus lack security necessary for him. These signs are incompatible. Gemini foresees an unlucky short romance as the most probable variant of these relations.

Gemini - Gemini. An individual of their sun sign can easily find approach to win their heart. Union may be happy for both sides, but won't prove to be stable in the long run. Physical attraction will disappear, and that relations will result in chaos. Both signs are impulsive, inclined to flirt and easily get bored. A love is fierce, but marriage may turn to a catastrophe. In rare cases this match is possible and if it happens then it will be the most exciting couple ever known.

Gemini - Cancer. Tender Cancer can touch the sensitive chord of Gemini's soul, but only for a moment. An intensive inner world of Cancer scares away such an inconstant Gemini's nature. This union is dangerous. Cancer is extremely sensitive and shy to reveal his feelings. Gemini will play a love game and Cancer will take it seriously. Cancer needs approval, while Gemini may be too open-hearted. A difference in temperaments will be a source of constant problems in bed. The liaison will fade, marriage is unhappy.

Gemini - Leo. Leo knows how to charm and allure Gemini. Leo can support any undertakings and ideas of Gemini, even the most risky and shady (in regard to morals). Noble generous Leo will be a toy in the hands of Gemini – and will be pleased with it! Gemini are clever and diverse in a sexual game, and Leo will be admired by the behavior of his partner. Leo will let Gemini go their own way. This partnership is ideal.  Liaison will be splendid and admirable; a more durable relationship is quite probable.

Gemini - Virgo. Gemini is always ready to yield to the next temptation, which goes absolutely against solid Virgo's principles. Virgo will consider Gemini an immature lover. Gemini take Virgo for a bore. Virgo has certain notions of sexual behavior, while Gemini are always undecided. After the flame of passion has been burnt, Virgo will grumble and criticize Gemini, who will be looking for entertainment outside the relationship. A short, like a bright flash, romance won’t be long.

Gemini - Libra. They both are born to be the life and soul of the party, and their life is filled with amusement. They are especially attracted (like by a magnet) by varied life of a big city or any other cultural center. An attractive interesting couple, both are passionate and will make love often. No one of them is jealous by nature; their temperaments will balance each other. Both like experiments concerning sex. The relationship will be pleasant for both of them and marriage will be very happy.

Gemini - Scorpio. Gemini is a constant rebel feels, completely at a loss, because of Scorpio's being so out-of-body. They are sexually compatible, but try to prove that physical attraction is not the most important thing. Scorpio is jealous. Gemini are unfaithful. Sometimes Scorpio is too aggressive and Gemini won’t stand it. After a passionate beginning relationship will cool down quickly and even may become inimical. A rare couple will be happy in marriage.
Gemini - Sagittarius. Gemini needs such a rhythm of life, which can take a breath away. Sagittarius does not lack any skills in hiding back his/her true nature permanently playing the hypocrite. Both are restless, change their mind often and are not sincere as lovers. Gemini will be criticizing the behavior of Sagittarius in bed. There are other weak points in this relationship, but the strong point is that both are not exigent and don’t have intentions to limit one’s freedom. A relation will start suddenly and may suddenly end as well. A happy marriage is possible, but it will require efforts from both sides.

Gemini - Capricorn. Gemini gladly talk much. Capricorn on the contrary prefers to be silent. Gemini love freedom and are extremely impatient for a conservative homebody Capricorn.  Something in sexual behavior of Gemini won’t definitely appeal to Capricorn. Capricorn is concerned about work, money, career that means not only physical needs. and thinks that Gemini plan too much. The relationship is possible, but a happy marriage will be a demonstration of all-triumphant love.

Gemini - Aquarius. It is Aquarius's nature to do something stunning. They perfectly supplement each other as Gemini never keeps him/herself within the bounds. Sensitive Gemini understand and estimate fantasies of Aquarius. They are likely to be inventive lovers, looking for adventures. The main characteristic of this relation is unexpectedness. Love relationship won’t go smoothly all the time, but may be fantastically inspiring and satisfying. After a break off they will be great friends. A marriage will most probably be a pleasant one, distinguished by deep affection rather then passion.

Gemini - Pisces. They both can be distinguished by refinement of character that is why it will be difficult for them to resist temptation to flirt.  Extraordinary sexual fantasies lie within this relation, but this couple rarely put them into life. Pisces are too emotional for Gemini, who enjoy a single moment and look for immediate pleasure. This creates an atmosphere of suspicion and distrust. A real affection may arise between them, but unstableness of relations will break this union. It is a risky liaison and an unhappy marriage.

Compatibility

Those they should avoid are Taurus (too slow for they), Cancer (too stable and domestic) and Pisces (too emotionally needy -- they'd hurt them far too often). Aquarius the Water- Bearer; Aries the Ram; Leo the Lion; Sagittarius the Archer.

Health

The flexible Twins do their best to be in two places at once, all the time. Always in motion, Gemini will get bored quickly with anything that doesn't move fast enough. As a Gemini, they're versatile and want to try absolutely everything - in short spurts. Gemini is a team player and likes large groups, yet is mostly noncompetitive and likely gets into sports and fitness activities just for fun. Since Gemini rules the arms, hands, shoulders and lungs, swimming is an excellent way to stay in shape. They may enjoy quick, exciting sports that can be played in doubles, like table tennis and bobsledding. The flexible Twins may also excel in gymnastics. Mental fitness is also important; after a day of running around, it's great to relax with a game of Trivial Pursuit.

Geminians can be great mediators, negotiators, marketers because they love talking. They deal with lots of contacts, and maintain good professional relations with most of those them know. They make new contacts at a quick pace. If Ever a Gemini finds that things are no more interesting for him, he will try his best to move ahead to something new.

They don't like to rule in the meetings, but they surely provide their feedback and comments in the meetings. They love to teach and share new information with someone. If life starts looking dull to a Gemini, a trip or a holiday would bring things back to normal.

Geminis keep their office loaded with phones, computers, fax machines, Cell phones, and if they can manage, a TV too. That means that they like to keep their space dominated with communication devices.

Geminis can best adopt professions like Explorers, public relation managers, writers, merchants, translators. For a perfect Gemini, name and fame can come their way anytime!

There are many Geminians in the communications field -- radio, TV, journalism, publishing, and the like -- for several reasons. Mercury, their planetary ruler, presides over communications and their skill with words. And they demand variety in their job: if they've met its challenge, and it becomes routine, they feel the urge to move on to the next project. In the communications field, people move around constantly. It's part of the deal. And in journalism, no day is ever the same twice -- the hunger for information, the "newness" of news, keeps the famous Gemini restlessness content.

Geminians are also prevalent in the acting profession. The dual nature of the sign of the twins means that they can be themself and a character at the same time. Plus, it allows their creativity to flourish, and they can move from project to project. Perhaps the only undesirable role would be in a long-running stage production, wherein they would have to repeat the same performance over and over for an extended period of time.

Famous Gemini actors include some of the best -- Sir Laurence Olivier, John Wayne, Errol Flynn, Douglas Fairbanks, Bob Hope (who used the Gemini way with words in his joke-telling), Judy Garland, Marilyn Monroe, and Tony Curtis.

Their other talent is social. Anything that involves lots of human contact is up their alley, be it sales, promotion, or buying. Their way with words is an asset as an account executive, salesperson, or marketing rep. This might get them a promotion, but they're likely to get bored sitting behind a desk and long for the day-to-day human contact again.

Their love of words also can lead them to a career in literature, or perhaps even songwriting. Cole Porter, the master of clever wordplay in popular song lyrics, was born on June 9th. Literary Geminians include Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, author of the Sherlock Holmes mysteries, poet and philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson, and the great poets Walt Whitman and William Butler Yeats.

They would be best served by finding a job that makes full use of their ingenuity, imagination, and love of ideas. Anything that requires quick thinking is also recommended, as long as it's not repetitive. They do not want a job that's static, or one that requires serious responsibility for the welfare of others (they're approach to people is light and social, not heavy and responsible), or one that involves manual labor.

What they have in Gemini is The Great Communicator and The Great Facilitator all rolled into one - but wait, they're two. Twins, right? Where Gemini is concerned, that means that they can talk twice as fast, twice as much and come up with enough new (and good) ideas to be considered the idea factory at any firm. Possessed of a restless and quick mind, the Twins are constantly moving from one project to the next, so an aide de camp is a good idea - if they can keep up!

Geminians work well as an intermediary or go-between, since they love to talk. If someone needs access, a Gemini is bound to provide it, as contacts are their stock in trade. The context of these contacts is probably a fast-paced, social whirl where they are being continuously challenged and stimulated. If things get dull, Gemini will simply find a new field in which to play. The Twins are also curious to a fault, something which can get them into trouble every now and again (no mincing words for these folks!).

Leading a staff meeting is not a goal for the Twins, but providing input certainly is. Teaching colleagues is always fun, as is sharing the wealth of information in their heads and creating harmony all around. When wander lust creeps into Gemini's life, it can generally be relieved with a quick business trip or a few days of play. Back at the ranch, the Twins would be well served by a diligent assistant to keep tabs on their workaday world and be sure they're getting things done.

The Gemini office is likely to be filled with multiple phones, a computer or two, fax machines, a TV - anything that will aid communication. A packed bag is in the corner, just in case. Their car of choice is a zippy little convertible with a cell phone or two, the perfect way to plan a lunch date at the most happening bistro in town.

Geminians are well suited as explorers, writers, merchants, translators, publicists - even the next Oprah.

Finance

The chatty Twins might be considered the deal-makers of the Zodiac, albeit guileless ones. A crowded cocktail party with its potential for new contacts and endless possibilities is heaven on earth to the fun-seeking Twins who also have the delicious ability to charm their way into the pocketbooks of everyone they meet (all aboveboard, of course).

Changeable, unpredictable Gemini’s enjoy spending their pennies, rarely worrying about where the next check will come from. Their charisma will surely lead to something! The Twins can't be bothered with the minutiae of balancing accounts, though, since there are so many more interesting things to do. They also adore flexibility in their lives, which means they'll never get a gold watch from an employer after twenty-five years - they'll have gone through twenty-five jobs during that time!

As far as the Twins are concerned, money is a necessary evil. Hey, there's so much to do! And if it takes money, so is it - the Twins will find a way to make some. It's the money-making journey which is all-important to Geminians, however, and there best be plenty of freedom and flexibility along the way, because these folks would never trade a fat paycheck for a humdrum job.

Even so, jobs are what the Twins crave, and lots of 'em(jobs), since keeping busy is great fun. The Twins enjoy juggling many tasks, and a job or two, coupled with volunteer efforts and the occasional "scheme" to make a few extra bucks, is all in a good day's work. Geminians are ideally suited as salespeople since it's a great way to talk all day long! And talk they can, for these folks could sell ice to Eskimos. A freelance sales job is ideal, thanks to its flexible scheduling. Geminians rarely worry about whether they'll have enough money since they are highly confident people and know they can pull a rabbit out of a hat. Are the Twins good with money? Well, they can have a pretty hard time deciding between practicality and pleasure ("the phone bill's due, but those shoes would be perfect for tomorrow night's party!"). If their partner is willing to manage the purse strings, life with the Twins can be a non-stop joyride!

Financially, they're as compulsive as they are in other areas. They are prone to capricious whims, so spending can easily be excessive. They're the type of person, for instance, that doesn't plan vacations -- if they feel like flying off to Hawaii for a small vacation tomorrow, they'll slap down a credit card and do it. Later, when it comes time to justify the bills, they've got a problem, and then they're likely to avoid it and hope fate intervenes somehow. They think they'll get a promotion later, or win the lottery, or inherit money, and pay it off later. Pretty soon they're spending more on a shopping spree and getting further into debt, rationalizing it the same way. Obviously, this is not right. Their biggest challenge as a Gemini, in fact, could be keeping their financial binges in check. Train their self to be more conservative with money.

Preferences

Variety is truly the spice of their life. They hate to wear the same types of clothes all the time. They prefer separates, so they can mix and match them.

Also, plain prints are boring to they -- they'll take a pattern of some kind, any kind, any day. Since movement is important, they must be light and comfortable. They don't like dark colors, only wearing them when they absolutely have to, and they quite like grey.

Their home belongs in a populated area, with lots of windows, so they can see people. They hate missing out on what's going on or being isolated. They also can't stand being confined, so they must have lots of room to move around. They do tend to have plenty of books and magazines, though, thanks to their need to feed their mind and their love of words.

They like to change the interior layout often, because they think it's boring for things to look the same all the time. They can also be quite fussy about where everything should be and how it looks --each room is color-coordinated and arranged just so, and neatness is important. This is because their home is often the center of activity socially -- they must entertain a great deal, so it's vital that their home is impressive.

Food is not terribly important to they, except as a means to interact with people. They prefer to go out to lunch and dinner with company -- eating alone is simply out of the question, because mealtime is their prime social hour. As a result, they do more talking than eating. They do enjoy lighter meals, and they especially like the variety of a buffet or salad bar. Heavier foods like steaks and roasts are definitely not their first choice -- they get bored chewing so much -- but chicken or tuna is okay. Fortunately, overeating is not one of their chief concerns, unless it's due to overstress --that's when they have a tendency to abuse food, so be careful there.

Fashion - Every day is an adventure for the Twins. They probably open their closet in the morning to have a mountain of crumpled garments cascade onto their head. Once they dig through the mess, it is only a question of figuring out what they feel like that day and throwing on the clothing to match. They follow trends halfheartedly because they become bored with them quickly. If a new trend hits they every day, they're ready to embrace that new trend - if only for the next 24 hours. They're a bit conscious of their wallet when going clothing shopping, but if they find the fuzziest pair of slippers they've ever set their feet in, not much is going to stop they from making them theirs. They probably don't care about or even look at, what the label on their new garment says, as long as they like the way it looks and feels.

They may do well in tank tops to show off their arms, and they can never go wrong with blue denim. If they think about putting on makeup in the morning, it's probably very light, perhaps only lip gloss to give they even more than their natural shine. Arm bands and dangly bracelets are a must unless, like tight clothing, they're too constricting. Experimental Gemini is willing
