Flag of Leo

Flag

The Flag of Leo is a rich orange. It is a color which stimulates and strengthens, filled with force and health. It gives the impression of a constant flow of energy. Orange is the hottest, widest and most pleasant and positive of colors. It reflects the balance of will and possibility. It denotes consciousness, ripeness, abundance, happiness and sexuality. It ensures, supports, and evokes appetite. It awakes, but does not excite, and tends to embrace space. Orange corresponds to the form of the wide rhombus that joins the diversity of yellow and the strength of red

Symbol - Lion

The symbol for Leo is similar to the stars in the constellation of Leo. It has also been described as the head and mane of a lion.

The symbol or glyph of Leo has, since ancient times, been likened to the mane of a lion, or even its tail. However, it has also been thought to represent the two valves of the heart, the area of the body, which Leo rules. Yet other interpretations of the glyph are that it is representative of the "serpent power" or creative force of the body in its coiled or dormant form, or that it symbolizes the heat or creative energy of the Sun, the celestial body which governs this Zodiac Sign. In Vedic Astrology, this glyph represents creativity and childbirth, likened to a sperm cell which is the creative power of life and heralds its beginning.

Comparison with its symbol

The majestic lion, the King of the Beasts, is Leo's symbol. Throughout history, the lion has symbolized sovereignty, ruler ship, and courage. "The lion's size and strength have captured human imagination since ancient times".

Leos, like lions, are thought to be strong leaders. They generally have a regal quality to them, and possess a noble manner that is hard to miss.

Color

Just as the lion rules the animal kingdom, Leo people tend to rule the roost, so to speak. Mostly extroverted, they like living it up in the high spots or entertaining in grand style with plenty of good food, fine wines and soft music. The color, which appeals most to those born under his sign, is AMBER - which, incidentally, is also their gemstone. ORANGE, through to a FIERY RED, also are colors befitting the LEO character which of itself is colorful. The Leo style of living is possibly more to impress than one to totally relax in.

Leo

Leo, the Lion, the fifth constellation of the Zodiac, is located between Cancer and Virgo and is best seen in the Northern Hemisphere in spring. The Sun passes southeastward through Leo from about August 23 to September 23, just prior to crossing the celestial equator at the autumnal equinox. Its brightest star is Regulus (Latin for "little king").

The sign Leo is ruled by the Sun. Physically it is related to the heart and back. It is said to have a masculine nature, and is therefore more extrovert in its energy. As a Fire sign, Leo is connected with the principle of identity, and as it is also classed as a Fixed sign, planets placed here have a stabilizing effect, conserving and building individual character. There is a strong creative manifestation and self-expression connected with the sign - planets placed in Leo act in a dramatic way and need to experience them reflected in their surroundings.

The sun being an orb, or circle, is one of the oldest symbols known that represents life in many cultures. While the sun is not a true planet it is considered so in astrology forecasts. The sun represents their ego and their conscious will as well as their physical life energies.

The position of the sun in their natal chart depicts the way they radiate energies in relation to the events in their life. Its effect is mainly paternal and that is traditionally masculine. The Sun is the heart of the horoscope and where it is found then it is there that they will want to shine.

The Lion is considered the king of the jungle, and likewise they Leos have an air of royalty about they. Some Leos even have hair resembling the thick mane of the Lion. But Lions are more than roar, for they are truly magnificent beasts. The Lioness proudly cares for the young, hunts and takes care of survival with relentless intent and ferocity, when needed. And proud are they Leo! Perhaps that's why Leo often chooses work that puts them in the center of stage or in the spotlight of appreciation.

Developing their own self-identity and mode of creative energy expression will be their ongoing life's work.

Key Planet - Sun

The Sun Rules the Sign of Leo

The Sun is the undisputed King of our little planetary system. He is always in the center. Without his light, there would be no life here on earth. Although the Sun is 93 million miles distant, its warmth is the basis for all energy on Earth. Astrologically, the Sun represents our will. It's like the fuel that fires each of our individual furnaces and gives us cause to live. As the key planet of Leo, the Sun is the symbol of the self and from it stems all individuality and creativity.

Leo Greatest Strength: Their playful and loving nature.

Leo Possible Weakness: Need for approval can become too important wondering how they can maximize their strengths and overcome their weaknesses?

Element - Fire

Fire signs are naturally warm. A fire gives light and heat, but it doesn't get depleted as others feed on its warmth. One candle can bring light to a room and it won't burn any faster if ten people read from its light or if there was only one. Fire doesn't plan it next move; it isn't logical. It simply is in the moment and will burn what fuel is available without judgment or forethought. For this reason fire signs can successfully rely on their intuition and survival instincts.

The fire of Leo is brilliant and intense. It's like the summer Sun that relentlessly shows up every day and whose heat continues to build over a period of time.

Fifth House - Children

The Fifth House is directly related to children, but it is also associated with any type of childlike activity. Even grown-ups need to play and this is a function of the Fifth House. In fact, all self-expression and creativity comes from this sector. Additionally, this is the House of Romantic Love. Truly, the Fifth House could be called the House of Enjoyment.

Origin

The adoption of this animal's form for the zodiac sign has been attributed to the fact that when the Sun was among its stars in midsummer the lions of the desert left their accustomed haunts for the banks of the Nile, where they could find relief from the heat in the waters of the inundation. Pliny wrote that the Egyptians worshipped the stars of Leo because the rise of their great river was coincident with the Sun's entrance among them. For the same reason the Sphinx is said to have been sculpted with Leo's body and the head of the adjacent Virgo, although Egyptologists maintain that this head represented one of the early kings, or the god Harmachis.

Leo, of course, is a lion -- the king of beasts, and the king of the zodiac signs. In Greek mythology, his singular audacity led him to leap from the heavens and battle Hercules, only to be killed. Although most present-day Leos are just as bold, they have thankfully learned to use their pride to better advantage.

Leo is ruled by the sun; the most advantageous day of the week is therefore Sunday. Since the sun is the eternal source of life and the center of our solar system, Leos are likewise the source of great happiness to the other signs, and quite naturally the center of attention in any group. It's also no accident that Leo falls in the center of the zodiacal year, during the earth's hottest months. Leo is therefore a fire sign.

Early Hindu astronomers knew it as Asleha and as Sinha, the Tamil Simham but later, influenced by Greece and Rome, as Leya or Leyaya, from the word Leo, as the Romans commonly called it.

The Persians called it Ser or Shir; the Turks, Artan; the Syrians, Aryo; the Jews, Arye; and the Babylonians, Aru -- all meaning a lion. In Euphratean astronomy it was additionally known as Gisbar-namru-sa-pan, variously translated, but by Bertin, as the Shining Disc, which precedes Bel, "Bel" being our Ursa Major, or in some way intimately connected therewith.

Ovid wrote it as Herculeus Leo and Violentus Leo. Bacchi Sidus (Star of Bacchus) was another of its titles, the god always being identified with this animal, and its shape the one often adopted by him in his numerous transformations, while a lion's skin was his frequent dress. But Manilius had it Jovis et Junonis Sidus (Star of Jove and Juno), as being under the guardianship of these deities, perhaps appropriately considering its regal character, especially that of its lucida.

A former asterism representing the tuft of the lion's tail was made its own constellation by Ptolemy III in 240 BC. It was given the name Coma Berenices.

Characteristics of sign and planets

Signs: - Heart of Kalapurusha, inaccessible eaks and rocks, jungles and thick forests frequently beasts, deep forests, forts, palaces, extensions, fortifications, smelters, government institutions, caves and mountains, chemical laboratories, explosives, manufacturing places, hunting places, glass factories and localities infected with beasts and birds of prey.

Sun in Leo

The Sun is essentially dignified here. This means that the Sun is supported in its quest for individuality and uniqueness. This individual has leadership potential and strives for greatness. They have great self-confidence and strive to put all of their heart into whatever they do because to them it is an affirmation of their identity. Self-expression is important to them. They can frequently be found in careers like acting or politics where they can be the center of attention, allowing their sense of the dramatic to be expressed. They can also be creatively inspired. At times they can appear opinionated and arrogant not seeming to take into consideration the needs of others. This is because these types of concerns are represented by the 12th solar house (Cancer/the Moon). Because it is a solid sign, they cannot be pushed around. Tact is important in dealing with this individual because they have a tendency to have inflated egos. Pride is their greatest liability. Their temper can be volcanic, but it is said that they do not hold a grudge.

There's an unmistakably regal air to Solar Leos. These are dignified -- even noble -- folk. Leos have a reputation for being conceited, but think again. Leos do feel important, but this generally takes the form of wanting to change the world in some way -- to make the world a better place. They are generally motivated by affection for people, and often have big dreams and plans to make people happy.

Generally, Leos are hard working. After all, they are attracted to the good things in life, and they know they have to work to get them. It is sometimes difficult to imagine Leos as go-getters, if they happen to catch them in one of their languid moods. These people can sleep in, laze around, and luxuriate for long periods of time. However, when they do get to work, they do it with intensity and determination. In this way, they are not unlike their symbol, the lion.

The worst thing they can do to a Leo is accusing them of bad intentions. Displaying behavior that makes them think they don't appreciate them runs a close second. These happy, jovial people become mighty hurt when others don't see them for their noble intentions.

Loyal, and sometimes rather traditional, Leos are, after all, a fixed sign. They'll hold on to situations and people for a very long time before they give up. There is an unmistakable idealism to Leo's view of the world and the people in it. Often, Leos have a very noble inner code that they answer to. Although on the surface, Leos appear rather confident, they can actually be some of the most humble souls around. They are the first to blame themselves when something goes wrong.

In a diurnal chart, the Sun is automatically in hayz. The heat and dryness of the day are in agreement with the Sun's nature. As a result, the ratification of fire sets this individual apart in a more unique way. If the Sun does not fall amiss (if Leo is not the 8th or 12th sign from the ascendant), then leadership in some area is a strong probability. If the Sun is also in the 1st or 10th house, then they have a commanding, domineering and kingly presence with a strong air of nobility.

In a nocturnal chart, the cool and moist of night counteract the ratification process of the Sun. They therefore do not usually seek to stand out so uniquely from the crowd. The focus turns inward towards family and children because the trigon lord of Leo by night is Jupiter. They are very generous with friends and family and have a very romantic side and tend to be lucky in love.

Once again, it's the leonine self-importance at work, and this characteristic works in unexpected ways. Instead of being the conceited, self-absorbed show-offs of reputation, they are usually very self-aware, self-conscious, and, yes, even humble.

Some Famous People with Sun in Leo: Ben Affleck (Sun and Mercury in Leo), Sandra Bullock (Sun and Mercury in Leo), J. C. Chasez of N'Sync, David Duchovny, Jonathon Frakes (Sun, Moon, and Mercury in Leo), Whitney Houston (Sun and Venus in Leo), Peter O'Toole (Sun and Moon in Leo), Jennifer Lopez (Sun, Mercury, and Mars in Leo), Madonna (Sun and Venus in Leo), Robert Plant, George Bernard Shaw (Sun and Venus in Leo), Martin Sheen (Sun, Moon, and Mars in Leo), Kevin Spacey (Sun and Mercury in Leo), Christian Slater.

Moon in Leo

Depending on other positions in the chart, Moon in Leo people are not necessarily outgoing. When they feel comfortable, they do like being the center of attention. That is, they like being in the "spotlight" in the comfort of their own homes and with family and friends. They enjoy entertaining others, and often take on the role of comic.

Because of the Sun's stewardship of this sign, the emotions and personal domestic life may be difficult to keep private. In fact this person may not want their personal lives to be private. In extreme cases, the native may reveal too much about themselves and make others uncomfortable in the process, leading to embarrassing situations. There is often a need to be recognized, admired and applauded and this behavior is sometimes transparent. This is where the sayings, "wearing their heart on their sleeve" and "living life in a fishbowl" come from. They are gifted in expressing themselves and getting their point across, but sometimes lack emotional objectivity. They can become attached to personal belongings because this is the 2nd solar house of the Moon.

Lunar Leos require lots and lots of love and care in order to function well in the world. When they feel slighted, these people can be dramatic in their emotional displays. When their pride has been hurt, they are given to big scenes and sulking. This rarely happens in public, however. Lunar Leos are far too concerned about their image to make splashy scenes outside the comfort of their own homes. In public, they prefer to take things in dignified ways. At home, however, they're given to big displays of emotional drama. These scenes generally don't last too long, however. Lunar Leos are often personally popular folk who are valued for their integrity and strong sense of justice.

In a diurnal chart, the heat and dryness of the day counteract the Moons sensitive nature and inhibit the free expression of emotion to some extent. However, public attention tends to be attracted to their personal life whether they wish it or not. They enjoy public adulation and have a strong need for recognition, although they will not let themselves appear desperate for it.

In a nocturnal chart, the cool and moistness of night amplify the Moons power allowing for spontaneity of emotional expression. This Moon is very romantic, expressive and creative. The natives mother tends to be a powerful influence. A person with this position of Leo tried to bring his mother along for the reading. It has to be refused and he was explained about the importance of personal boundaries and the inappropriateness of the situation. This native is the more likely of the 2 sects to try to involve everyone in their personal business.

Lunar Leos often feel a need to organize, and even control, their families and friends. They have an inner mission to set things right and generally like to oversee the goings-on in their little circle.

Generally, it is easy to reason with a Lunar Lion. Appealing to their well-developed sense of fairness usually works well.

Some Famous people with Moon in Leo: Tom Cruise (Moon and Venus in Leo), Jonathon Frakes (Sun, Moon, and Mercury in Leo), Katie Holmes, Anna Kournikova, Peter O'Toole (Sun and Moon in Leo), Julia Roberts, Tom Selleck, Martin Sheen (Sun, Moon, and Mars in Leo), Rene Zellweger.

Stars

This constellation contains many bright stars, such as Regulus (α Leonis), the lion's heart; Denebola (β Leonis); and γ1 Leonis (Algieba). Many other fainter stars have been named as well, such as δ Leo (Zosma), θ Leo (Chort), κ Leo (Al Minliar al Asad ), λ Leo (Alterf), and (ο Leo (Subra).

Regulus, η Leonis, and γ Leonis, together with the fainter stars ζ Leo (Adhafera), μ Leo (Ras Elased Borealis), and ε Leo (Ras Elased Australis), make up the asterism known as the Sickle. These stars represent the head and the mane of the lion.

The star Wolf 359, one of the nearest stars to Earth's solar system (7.7 light-years), is in Leo. Gliese 436, a faint star in Leo about 33 light years away from the Sun, is orbited by one of the smallest extrasolar planets ever found. [1].

Mercury in Leo

When Mercury is in Leo, then people speak with authority. Some of them come across as know-it-alls, but the more mature ones speak with style. They want others to know about their presence of mind and their know-how.

Because this sign is administered by the Sun, which is representative of Nous, this is indicative of a visionary intellect. Mercury here indicates that they like to think on a grand scale and as a result they may tend to ignore the details. Accordingly, exaggeration may be a problem. There is also a tendency to get attached to one set of dogmatic ideals and not pay attention to other possibilities. This is because the administrator of this sign is associated with Nous and Plato's "Same". This may be why some astrologers consider this to be the sign of its fall, because Mercury is naturally attracted to the details. According to ancient texts however, Mercury is not in its fall here. They may be gifted in the arts or music and have a very creative mind. Sometimes, others may think of them as being headstrong. They like to be seen as an authority in their field.

Mercury in Leo men and women are adept at seeing the big picture, sometimes at the cost of ignoring the details. They are generally skilled at the art of persuasion. While others may try to win people over with logic, guilt, or wit, Mercury in Leo does it with warmth and good will. They are excellent at promoting ideas and getting their message across.

These people can be very attached to their opinions, taking pride in their beliefs, which are often rather idealistic. They are capable people on an intellectual level, and have an especial desire for self-expression.

Creativity is especially important to Mercury in Leo people. They present themselves with a certain amount of flair, and even drama. Often passionate and enthusiastic speakers, Mercury in Leo people get their message across with zeal. Some people with this position have developed a perhaps more sophisticated manner in which they present their ideas and thoughts, and these natives possess admirable style and warmth.

In a diurnal chart, the heat of the day rarifies thoughts such that there may be a tendency to see only one side of an argument. This individual can be very authoritative and dogmatic and prone to spread propaganda. They may be prone to exaggeration. They make very good sports announcers.

In a nocturnal chart, the cool and moistness of night allow for a connection to contrary ideas and possibilities. There is a lot of creativity and less stubbornness in mental attitude. They may be especially talented in music.

Depending on the confidence level of the whole individual with this placement of Mercury, stubbornness in the face of criticism or over-sensitivity to anything less than praise is present. Whatever the reaction, Mercury in Leo natives can be mentally arrogant. Mercury, by nature, is detached and reasonable. In Leo, however, the ego comes into play very strongly when it comes to intellectual analysis. With intellect and ego so closely tied, the ability to separate fact from fiction can be impaired. In some, boasting may be a problem. Probably the best way to handle this position is to find self-expression in some creative field. Mercury in Leo natives can be magnificent story-tellers, for example, mainly because they have such a wonderful sense of drama. They speak and write with heart.

Some Famous People with Mercury in Leo: Ben Affleck (Sun and Mercury in Leo), Sandra Bullock (Sun and Mercury in Leo), George Bush Jr. (Mercury and Venus in Leo), Cameron Diaz, Jonathon Frakes (Sun, Moon, and Mercury in Leo), Jennifer Lopez (Sun, Mercury, and Mars in Leo), Charlie Sheen, Kevin Spacey (Sun and Mercury in Leo), Patrick Stewart (Mercury and Mars in Leo),

Venus in Leo

Venus is ruled by the Sun in this sign. This indicates a poetic quality and ideal as to what is beautiful. They like elegance and are attracted to a social atmosphere filled with important and interesting people and are especially fond of large parties. They are romantic and tend to be physically attractive to the opposite sex. They sometimes have an interest in modeling or they may be involved in work with theatrical makeup or casting for plays or movies. Under negative aspects they may be accused of social climbing or of being snobs and can be too class conscious; or their idea of what is beautiful borders on the gaudy and trashy. Under some rare conditions where Venus is afflicted, it can be an indication that the native is a social outcast, because the Sun as ruler shows one who stands alone, unique and separate from others.

When Venus in Leo people are in love, they are proud, even boastful. This position of Venus can turn humble Virgo Suns or retiring Cancer Suns into somewhat demanding lovers. Venus in Leo loves to court and be courted, and they need to feel very special. They are warm, generous, and even grand. Though really quite loyal to their partners (remember that love is THE most important thing in Leo's life), they thrive on attention from the opposite sex. Be prepared for their displays: they will tell about any advances members of the opposite sex make on them. Remember, they're just showing off, and it's likely harmless. It's a different story if they do the same, however. That's when they'll hear the lion roar...and, no doubt, they'll want to keep these cats purring. Venus in Leo wants to appear experienced in love, even if they have little or no experience whatsoever!

Venus in Leo men and women have high expectations, but once they know that these expectations revolve only around how much attention they are giving them, they'll see that they are really quite big-hearted about most everything else. They are threatened by a relationship that appears to have settled too much, or one that's lost its spark. They are also threatened by indifferent or impersonal behavior on their part.

Although their needs for physical expression through sex are generally quite strong, their need for love is perhaps even stronger. It is hard for Venus in Leo people to separate love and sex, and even their most erotic fantasies are infused with love and affection. For this reason, few Venus in Leo folk would last long in a relationship that is mostly sexual. On the flip side, they may last longer in a love-only relationship in the absence of satisfying sex, but they are unlikely to feel very satisfied.

Pleasing Venus in Leo involves paying loads of attention to them. If they're willing to make only one adjustment in their ways, it should be to remind Leo how wonderful they are. Respect and appreciate them, always. Put up with their childlike moments and their tall tales. They want to be seen as attractive by others, so avoid (at all costs!) putting them down in this area. They actually lose interest when they perceive the slightest loss of interest in their partner, and they can expect that any letdown will be acted out in a dramatic fashion. Remind them, in a gentle way that their emotions count too. If they are feeling a little jealous, let them know. Remember, to Venus in Leo, their small jealousies are affirmations that they find them attractive and expect the rest of the world to as well. Let them decide where to go on a date, and let them pay too. When Venus in Leo feels loved and appreciated, they reward they with loyalty, a big sense of fun, and plenty of physical expressions of their love.

In a diurnal chart, the heat and dryness of the day cause a ratification of the social atmosphere of the native, making for contacts with important people. The native is very outgoing and active in the local nightlife. They tend to be quite popular, and occasionally become well known and famous. However, they may become involved in scandal from time to time because Venus is not of the sect in favor.

In a nocturnal chart, the cool and moistness of the night supports the easy going nature of Venus. They tend to be less self-conscious as a result. The native is elegant and refined and often has modeling potential, but is a little less interested in climbing the social ladder. They prefer intimate romantic settings and are fortunate in love.

Some Famous People with Venus in Leo: George Bush Jr. (Mercury and Venus in Leo), Tom Cruise (Moon and Venus in Leo), Whitney Houston (Sun and Venus in Leo), Nicole Kidman, Madonna (Sun and Venus in Leo), Tobey Maguire, George Bernard Shaw (Sun and Venus in Leo),

Mars in Leo

This position of Mars gives a drive for significance. Mars in Leo individuals possess a strong need to create in some way -- and they are determined that their lives have not only meaning, but significant meaning!

This is a very masculine combination and it is said of these natives that they "have the right stuff". The Sun as lord of Mars shows one who is set apart and unique for qualities of courage, bravery and bold action. Because the Sun is heroic in quality and Mars is the "god of war" they are sometimes awarded with medals of honor for acts of bravery in the face of deadly situations. They have great composure under stress and handle emergencies well. They frequently enjoy risk and some play the role of daredevil. They have great self-confidence, will power, determination, endurance and stamina. They are extremely competitive and will sometimes go to deadly lengths to ensure that they will not lose. When they do, they can be extremely sore losers.

This is a particularly vital position of Mars. Passions run high, and so does desire. There is a strong will that gives these natives much staying power. Though Mars in Leo people will enjoy the pleasures of risk-taking, they generally have a strong sense of reason at the end of the day.

Mars in Leo people often have well-defined ambitions. Rarely will they find a person with Mars in this position who lives life without a true sense of a "calling". They act with authority and power, and their personal magnetism generally endows them with the ability to get what they want.

This is one of the more sexual positions of Mars. While they are rather easy to arouse, their passion is long-standing. Mars in Leo natives enjoy sex more than most, as long as heavy doses of love and romance are part of the package. In partnership, they demand loyalty and admiration.

Impatient with small-mindedness and disloyalty, Mars in Leo natives generally have a strong idealistic streak. They easily get fired up when they feel they've been humiliated, and they defend their high principles with ardor.

In a diurnal chart, the heat and dryness of the day rarify the actions of the native making him stand out from the crowd. Those born with this should be careful of injury because Mars is not of the sect in favor and the day magnifies the malefic qualities of Mars. These natives can at times be wreck less.

In a nocturnal chart, the cool and moistness of the night counteract the excessively dry nature of Mars. They may not stand out as distinctly for their actions as a result, but they are not as wreck less and have greater self control. Their will power, determination and endurance may in fact be enhanced by the nocturnal sect, since the excess of heat in the day time can lead to a lack of control.

Mars in Leo natives act with their heart. Their ego is tied up with their actions, so that most things they do becomes a source of great pride. Though some are self-righteous and quarrelsome, the more sophisticated people with this position are kindly leaders.

Some Famous People with Mars in Leo: Cher, George Clooney, Melissa Etheridge, Jennifer Lopez (Sun, Mercury, and Mars in Leo), Martin Sheen (Sun, Moon, and Mars in Leo), Patrick Stewart (Mercury in Leo).

Jupiter in Leo

This creates in the native a strong air of nobility. They have leadership capacity and are ambitious and enthusiastic. They rarely have a blue day and it is hard to keep this individual down. This is because Jupiter has a benevolent jovial influence upon the heart. They are very good with the public, so a career in politics is a possibility. They may be prone to speculate and enjoy risk and games of chance. Obviously, with hard aspects or afflictions to Jupiter there can be problems with gambling addiction. They also should watch a tendency to overdo in work or anything else that gains their interest, since Jupiter adds excessively to the Sun's striving for largeness and greatness.

In a diurnal chart, the heat rarifies, adding an air of nobility to this individual. Because Jupiter is of the sect in favor, this person often has great faith in God. Because of their faith they may be more inclined to gamble or take chances, feeling that little can go wrong. They tend to have a strong moral center, and may be interested in a career in politics, or the law, but prefer being a judge to being a lawyer.

In a nocturnal chart, Jupiter is essentially dignified by being in the trigon of fire. The coldness of the night lowers activity, which helps keep the native from overdoing. Also because the quality of "cold" is that which brings together that which is like and unlike, this is the opposite if ratification, creating less emphasis on qualities of nobility. Because of the sect status, they not as likely to take blind gambles prefer seeing to faith.

Saturn in Leo

According to medieval authors, Saturn is in detriment in this sign. This means that Aquarian principles like cooperation, humanitarianism and compromise are not well supported here. Dictatorial attitudes and selfishness may result. Saturn represents the principle of agnoia; and here the lack of knowing is with respect to the will, character, identity and self-expression. Thiscan lead to self doubt and lack of confidence, but this is a double edged sword and in some cases it identifies those who aspire to a high office by creating a need for recognition. In the latter case Saturn inhibits feedback to the native about their performance. This usually takes the form of others trying to stand in the way of the natives best efforts. The result is that they try even harder than most to make an impression and some really succeed in distinguishing themselves. Notable examples of this are Adolf Hitler, Bill Clinton, and Al Gore. Bill Clinton didn't have an issue with self expression because of the reception from the Sun in Leo and a very powerful Venus in Libra rising... Hitler simply defined himself as the state of Germany ignoring the conflict between Saturnian issues and individuality.

In a diurnal chart, the heat diminishes the malefic qualities of Saturn. This individual has a clearer sense of identity and purpose because the agnoia is lessened. In some cases they aspire to political office and they generally make good executives. Leadership ability is present, but they often suffer from great opposition. This opposition usually takes the form of others pointing out character flaws and accusing the native of a lack of integrity. In this case, the native must learn the lesson of humility.

In a nocturnal chart, the cool and moist of night exasperate the problem of self-unknowing because there is less distinction between things alike and unlike the self. There may be an issue of understanding personal boundaries, and they are likely to lack confidence and self esteem. There is usually a distrust of authority, and a few successfully bring down the leadership.

Uranus in Leo

Uranus is a good fit for Leo. Uranus represents such things as sudden breaks, originality, electricity and rebels. It is hot and dry by nature. The Sun, as administrator for Leo, is also considered hot and dry by nature. The only possible conflict between the fixed nature of Leo (representing repetitive action) and Uranus's inclination for change. Some with this position have made technical advancements for the theatre and movie industry. It is certainly a great help to all those who want to be seen as unique in the world. Those with close aspects from inner planets to Uranus in this sign have a better than average chance of great achievement. Also, since the Sun is representative of Nous and Uranus is representative of the higher mind, it is indicative of those with a great vision and inspiration. But again, it is only likely that those with close aspects to Uranus here will be set as examples of this before the world.
In a diurnal chart, the heat and dryness are magnified. This would theoretically increase the "voltage". The natives are more dynamic and spontaneous and may be full of surprises and inspiration.

In a nocturnal chart, the cool and moist of night would theoretically inhibit the process of hyper-individualization.

Neptune in Leo

The last time Neptune was in this sign was between 1915 and 1929 and for most of this time it could be described as glamorous and a time of unrealism. In terms of the stock market, it was a time of wild and unrealistic investments, which came to an end when Neptune entered the frugal sign of Virgo in 1929. This was the time of the "roaring 20's". Oddly enough, the adjective "roaring" was used for when it was in the sign of the lion. Prohibition was instituted at this time (Neptune represents alcoholic beverages). Oddly enough, Leo is considered a dry sign. After all, cats hate to get wet! Neptune is good for the idealistic and romantic side of Leo. It is great for musical creativity (Jazz was born during this time). Speculation and exaggeration are problems for this generation. Because Neptune represents self-undoing, and Leo is about self-identity, some will come to an ignominious end. It can also represent a distaste for authority. Close aspects from inner planets to Neptune here may set the native as an example of these traits before the public.

In a diurnal chart, the heat and dryness of the day go directly against the cool and moistness of Neptune. If there are no inner planets aspecting, Neptune here then it may go unnoticed. Neptune may operate but probably to a lesser degree.

In a nocturnal chart, the cool and moist of night amplify these qualities in Neptune, theoretically enhancing its power to create illusion, and romance

 Pluto in Leo

Pluto was in Leo between 1938 and 1957. It represents the ultimate in power and authority. The atom bomb was created at this time and the world seemed filled with dictators. There is a streak of selfishness and ruthlessness underlying this generation which may be why this was called the "me" generation. It is ironic that they were also called the "boomer" generation in light of the fact that the bomb being dropped in Hiroshima led to the end of WWII and the birth of most of these children. Of course, most have learned to downplay these traits. On the positive side, individuals with aspects from inner planets to Pluto may be set up for great fame and recognition. Since Pluto's sect status is undetermined, there is little sense in speculating about differences based on sect.

Astrology

The Western astrological sign Leo of the tropical zodiac (July 21 - August 20) differs from the astronomical constellation and the Hindu astrological sign of the sidereal zodiac (August 10 – September 15).

In some cosmologies, Leo is associated with the classical element Fire, and thus called a Fire Sign (with Aries and Sagittarius). Leo is also one of the fixed signs (along with Taurus, Scorpio, and Aquarius).

The astrological symbol has been supposed to portray the animal's mane, but it also might be the animal's tail. Gaius Julius Hyginus's writing published in 1488 and Albumasar's in 1489 showing this latter member of extraordinary length, twisting between the hind legs and over the back, Hyginus's manuscript properly locating the star Denebola in the end. But the International Dictionary says that this symbol is a corruption of the initial letter of Λεων (Leon). Félix Lajard's Cultes de Mithra mentions the hieroglyph of Leo as among the symbols of Mithraic worship, but how their Lion agreed, if at all, with ours is not known.

It is the domicile of the Sun. The Egyptian pharaoh Nechepso, and his priest Petosiris, taught that at the creation of the world the Sun rose here near Denebola, and hence Leo was Domicilium Solis, the emblem of fire and heat, and the "House of the Sun".

Each astrological sign is assigned a part of the body, viewed as the seat of its power. Leo rules the heart and spine.

Mythology

In Greek mythology, it was identified as the Nemean Lion (and may have been a source of the tale), which was killed by Heracles during one of his twelve labors, and subsequently put into the sky.

The Egyptians worshipped lion-gods which is evidence of the importance this beast held in Egyptian life.  The Egyptians believed that the world was created at a time when the Sun rose in Leo near the star Denebola.

The Sumerians also saw this group of stars as a lion.  The form of the Lion was probably passed along to the Babylonians, Greeks, Roman and others.

Hercules' first labor was to kill the Nemean lion, a fierce beast who descended to Earth from the Moon in the form of a meteor and ravaged the countryside of Corinth.  The lion’s hide was so tough that neither spear nor arrow nor any other weapon could pierce it.  So well known was the beast that Hercules had no trouble finding its lair, a cave with two entrances.  As Hercules approached, the lion showed itself and Hercules sped an arrow toward its heart.  The arrow merely bounced off and fell to the ground.  Hercules now knew that arrows or spears were useless against the beast.

He then sealed off one of the entrances to the cave and pursued the lion inside through the other entrance.  So great was his strength that Hercules seized the lion and strangled it to death by ramming his fist down its throat.  He then flung it over his shoulder and returned to show King Eurystheus that he had fulfilled his first labor.  The cowardly king was terrified at the sight of the beast and fled.  Hercules then skinned the lion and used its tough hide as a protective shield.

So angry was Hera at Hercules' success that she raised the soul of the lion high into the sky, where today he can be seen as the constellation Leo, the Lion.

As a woman

Physical Appearance - They possess an imposing persona and have a royal air around them. Well-developed bones, broad shoulders, tall, well-built and muscular body characterize a Leo woman. Their stature is full and they look majestic and dignified.

Mental Attitude - They are ambitious and commanding. They will like to be in positions where people look towards them for guidance and direction. A Leo woman has sufficient mental and emotional strength to don the mantle of a leader. They tend to perform better in a stressful situation more than in daily routine. A Leo woman is mentally very agile and has a very good grasp of the things.

One of the negative things about they is their inability to work steadily for a long period of time.

General Nature - Women born in Leo sign normally have a royal nature. Activities like taking side of the weak, giving donations etc. come naturally to them. With a good capacity to organize & manage, they can manage organizations very effectively. They are very sure of them self and are able to mingle with all people, high and low alike. Refined tastes are generally found in their type and they are keenly interested in dance, music and poetry.

On the flip side - they are a quite a slave of flattery and people can misuse this weakness of theirs to get the result that they desire from them. Sometimes they also become difficult to get along with. They want every thing to go their way and they fail to see that other human beings also exist and they too can have a desire or say in any subject.

Health - Their health problems are related to heart, the spinal column and bones. They should take care by way of proper food and regular exercise. They should take very long walks and do a lot of physical work to ward off the stress from their body. Their health problems also stem from a view that everything should run according to their wish and when it fails to happen they get irritable and majorly stressed.

Money - They tend to gradually more over to areas that provide high income and social respect. Money wise, they should be quite well off.

A leo woman has generous nature and gives away money to any one who is able to get her sympathy. They have a negative trait of “show off” which can leads them to overspend and waste their money.

Romance & Sex Life - They are fiery and passionate. They will attract men but will not allow them to come very close to them - because they feel their royal status can be compromised by that. They know well how to handle men and even the worst of them will behave properly in their audience.
Center of their back is their hotspot.

Marriage - They are very true and faithful to their husband and will try to improve their house by all possible means. If their husband can understand them well and have faith in them, their married life will be very good. They will go out of their way to do the extra bit to improve the house and care for their husband. They will not mind the extra effort or the pain they may have to incur. But if their husband is not understanding and supportive, the marriage will definitely face rough weather and they may move out of it.

Caution - It is rightly said that 'flattery is a food of fools'. They should not be carried away with it. One thing they should remember that one who flatters they has some aim in mind for which he or she wants to use them. They should instead be open to creative criticism.

As a Baby

If a child is born in Leo, he or she is usually a happy extrovert that loves power. A child of the Sun is sincere, honorable, magnanimous, and proud. As adults they are usually dignified and positive.

The Leo child is philosophical, forceful, and demonstrative. Because they are assured, Leos demonstrate faith, hope, and fortitude. This child is apt to be energetic and lavish in expenditure of energy and money when his or her sympathy or interest is aroused. Leos are usually popular and even-tempered but quick to anger if their Leo pride is hurt. Leos always aim for the stars, and with their determination and self-confidence, Leo children usually get there.

Positive Qualities

They are a born leader, and they know it. They are blessed with many talents, and a destiny for greatness. Their sun is a star; they, then, are the star of the zodiac. Because of this, they are eternally optimistic and cheerful. If something gets in their way, they conquer it, the way a lion will defeat virtually any foe in the jungle. And like a lion, they do so with dignity.

Leos possess a strong positive nature and don't shrink from any adverse circumstances. Leos like to live on a grand scale. First class is the only way to go and luxury is comfort. In personal relationships, Leo is open, sincere, genuine, trusting and generous. They are direct and to the point and lead with their emotions. Leos are proud people, with an idealistic and humane nature. They are basically outgoing, happy, kind and generous. Self-expressive, intelligent and broad minded, they are philosophically inclined.

Their charm and generosity are unending, and people love them for it. They have a big heart -- in fact, Leo rules the heart in the zodiacal body -- and for this reason, they love buying a round of drinks, sharing colorful stories over a meal, and generally being the life of the party. Their friends can always count on them for livening up their day. And best of all, they love them even more because they never ask for anything in return -- they were born with gifts, so there's no need. They just love sharing them.

Like a cat, they are a hunter. They spot their prey, take aim, and pounce on their target. In human terms, this means their ambition is highly focused. They know they will reach the top; it's just a question of when. Along the way, they are highly organized, frank, and outspoken -- all qualities which focus on their target of being the leader.

Negative Qualities

Although outgoing, spontaneous, warm- hearted and straight forward, a tragic flaw in Leo is gullibility. They are too trusting and generous to people they like and love. They are not good judges of character and are inclined to treat those close to them as if they were perfect beings incapable of wrongdoing. Because no one can possibly live up to this kind of expectation, Leos are often disappointed. They do recover quickly however, and may have numerous love affairs. Their love of pleasure and beauty, and their expectation of perfection drives them from one attractive partner to another. Quick tempered, blunt and nasty when they have been affronted, they are deeply hurt by malice or hostility.

Leos can be too sensitive to personal criticism, and when their dominance is threatened they can go into a sudden rage They often expect people to do things for them. Especially the little things, details a leader like them self shouldn't be bothered with. Well, in real life, this can cause its share of irritation, even among their admirers. Its fine to prioritize, but don't let arrogance come at the expense of friends or family.

They expect to be high priest and master of any group, and they will not tolerate a challenge to this position. They will either fight bravely and win, or exit the group with dignity and find another situation to preside over.

They also get upset by change. Once they've attained their leadership status, they prefer things as they are. If the apple cart is upset, they immediately feel their role is threatened. Not surprisingly, then, many Leos are Republicans.

Physical Qualities and Activities

They're likely to persist with frequent aerobic workouts, even if they don't like them, because looking and feeling good is important to them. With teams, they may be very competitive; they always feel the need to lead and be first. Leo will be fair about making sure everyone gets a chance to play. The inflexible Lion rules the heart and back, so cardiovascular exercise is important. When going to the gym, they may want to run a few extra laps – but only after a vigorous stretching session on the mat. Their motivation is to look good, and at the gym they're likely to be the one in designer sweats.

Lions are large animals, and so are Leos. Everything about a Leo is on a grand scale. This is not to suggest obesity; quite the contrary. Leos are known for strong upper bodies and muscular tone, all the better to fight off predators and command the respect of the other signs.

Since Leo rules the heart, they are prone to heart disease. Their preference for red meat only compounds the problem. Also, their love of the sun can sometimes lead to heat exhaustion or sunstroke, so be careful there.

In fact, no other sign spends as much time in the sun as them. Their ideal vacation is a trip to a warm, tropical beach, where they can bask in the rays all day and show off their body. They tan easily.

They enjoy summer sports that are social and outdoor-oriented, such as tennis or golf. Their other favorite activity is charity work, due to their unbridled generosity. They'll often spend a weekend presiding over and organizing fund-raisers for this group or that.

Finally, they love to be on stage, be it as an actor, musician, lecturer, or just about any type of performer. Whether professionally or just for fun, their need for attention leads they to constantly show them self off.

Physical appearance

Those who are born under the jurisdiction of Leo tend to retain their youth and exuberance of spirit until well toward the end of their lives. Indeed, in many cases, these natives give the illusion of appearing to grow younger as they actually become older. As a general rule, Leo subjects are of average to slightly above average height with strong, excellently-proportioned and well-sculpted bodies. They are also blessed with broad shoulders and finely-shaped heads, which may be rather large and roundish. They possess strong and pleasant voices and walk with a quick and buoyant step - although the movement itself may be somewhat slow and deliberate, as is their speech. The overall stature here is altogether rather distinguished, being regal and dignified in bearing. The skin of Leo individuals will customarily be healthy, the complexion ruddy, rosy or flushed in many instances, although it can occasionally be light in color. In short, natives of this Sign easily attract the attention of others in a physical sense.

In many respects, Leo natives very much resemble their animal counterparts, tending to be broad at the shoulders and trim at the hips. - rather like the anatomy of a lion. There is often something of a "strut" to the walk here with a tendency to puff out the chest and hold in the stomach. One unmistakable trademark will be the very erect and upright bearing of the upper torso, neck and head.

The hair, fine of texture and usually wavy, is customarily somewhat light, being either blond or reddish in color. Regardless, it almost always distinctive in some manner - perhaps sweeping gracefully up-and-out, away from the face in mane-like fashion, or laying close to the head, scooping decidedly across the forehead. The eyes, commanding and fearless with a sometimes trace of haughtiness, are usually quite beautiful with a soft and friendly expression. Normally brownish in color, they can also be blue or hazel and customarily possess a slight tilt at the corners. The eyebrows may be thick and rather well-formed while the teeth are usually white, somewhat large and evenly-spaced. The Leo nose is generally straight with a tendency to aquilinity (or a slight "hook"). The whole expression of these subjects is known to be "leonine," combining a regal self-assuredness with an almost disdainful nonchalance. The Leo voice is full-toned and the speech pattern somewhat decisive and often quite commanding. In short, others tend to listen to Leo individuals and obey- particularly when they "roar" like a lion.

Leo natives are generally robust with all faculties and proportions (particularly as concern physical appearance) in balance and harmony. The Greek culture instinctively recognized this, making their Sun Gods, Apollo and Hercules, models of the human form. Physically, Leos are strong and have abundant energy and fire, which is reflected in their swift movements. The constitution of Leo natives is generally very strong and even if they fall ill, they recover very quickly. They are often handsome creatures and take great pride in their good looks. However, there is a tendency here to put on weight after a rather "streamlined" youth. The smile of Leo is customarily broad and beaming, the walk and carriage being rather regal - full of pride, dignity and, on occasion, somewhat pompous in character. Leo mannerisms are often described as "catlike," and its subjects may be inclined to knead cushions and pillows or stroke such materials as velvet while licking the lips in abject satisfaction. Such natives may also unconsciously rub or scratch their necks and heads when upset or nervous.

They are neat, even clinical, in their personal appearance and approach. They tend to analyze everything they do, and they may take every emotion apart until they have destroyed any natural or spontaneous feelings.

Personality

Leos are traditionally known as: generous, self-assured, warm-hearted, creative, witty, enthusiastic, broad-minded, flamboyant, expansive, fluent-talker, vivacious, faithful, loving, powerful, ambitious, and born entertainers.

Leo natives count among the most talented, most blessed and most lovable people to be found in the entire Zodiac. Indeed, some of the greatest men and women the world has ever known were natives of this Sign. They are possessed of highly emotional natures as well as vigor, buoyancy and excellent health. With their commanding character, sound judgment, and generous and magnanimous manner, Leo individuals make for natural rulers and leaders. They have a very pleasing personality which is sure to inspire confidence and their agreeable manners enable them to gain many favors which would be withheld from others.
Leo Ascendant indicates individuals who are likely to have strong physiques and lots of physical stamina. They are very stubborn and find it extremely difficult to break undesirable habits and behavior patterns. However, their tenacity and stamina can also be wonderful assets. When they get involved in something, they hang on long after everyone else runs out of steam, and they inspire others with their devotion to ideals and principles.

Leo indicates energy and enthusiasm. Once motivated, they seldom hesitate to act. In spite of their energy and enthusiasm however, they can also be inclined to physical laziness. Their natural enthusiasm is responsible for overabundance and a tendency to overestimate everything. When buying various personal items, for example, they often acquire far more than they need. Though often rash and hasty, their passions are sincere.

Leo is ruled by the sun, ruler of willpower and egotistical drives. It indicates the conscious or subconscious need to dominate, especially in those with more aggressive personalities. They want to have the last word in everything, and may come to believe their opinion is the only one worth considering.

The negative potential for Leo Ascendant individuals is evidenced in those whose ego-driven personalities turn them into manipulative, power-oriented demagogues. Though most Leo Ascendant individuals are apt to be outgoing, they are not necessarily aggressive or loudly gregarious. Their personalities will be greatly influenced by the nature and strength of their willpower and ego involvement. If the willpower and ego are not strong, then neither is the personality apt to be assertive.

No matter what the rest of the world may think of them, it is meaningless compared to what they think of themselves. Intense self-absorption makes it hard to accept guidance from others, and they may feel taking or asking for advice from others is a sign of weakness. They enjoy associating with others who make them appear at their best. They have great generosity, and their warm, friendly approach wins many friends, as well as inspires the envy of others with less popular personalities. Life will rarely be a routine existence.

On the shadow side: pompous, lavish spenders, prideful, self-centered, patronizing, bossy, overbearing, bombastic, interfering, dogmatic, intolerant, fixed in opinion.

Romance

Leo, a masculine sign, is self-sufficient, confident and tends to bravado. Personal charm and physical magnetism make them the centre of attention, which of course is very much to their satisfaction.

Some Leos can find themselves clinging to bad relationships or mistaken beliefs, because their egos simply will not allow them to admit to being wrong. Leo is ardent and willing, although not necessarily particularly creative.

When in love, individuals ruled by this Sign are supremely supportive and affection tends to grow stronger the more he or she feels that the chosen partner truly cares. In return, Leo will reward such a mate with true adoration. Leo natives are essentially romantic in a dramatic sense - and not afraid to show it. These are souls who enjoy pulling their loved ones out into their world and radiate when they feel their partners compliment some quality about themselves. Love is a thing of luxury to Leo and his or her mate will receive an abundance of personal attention, lust and emotions. Since Leo individuals are prone to judge themselves on what they have around them (hence their love of luxury), they can be somewhat appearance-conscious at times and may become overly critical of a partner's qualities, looks or talents. In truth, those who are governed by Leo truly require constant input to maintain their vitality and can, on occasion, be self-serving. Sometimes to the point where it becomes egotistical.

Still, love with a Leo native is like no other love and once these persons decide to give their hearts, they also give every inch of their souls and The Leons are vulnerable to distrust. If their trust is broken, they are almost certain to crumble. Again, Leo subjects base their own self-judgments on those they adore. When natives of this Sign feel let down, and it usually takes a great deal - they either fall into an abyss of pain and depression, or become utterly cold and without feeling.

The sexuality of those governed by Leo is as full of light and life as is their ruling Planet, the Sun. Generally, they are full of showmanship and expressive displays of attention. Leo natives enjoy the height of all feelings in life and physical pleasure is just another glorious filed to explore. These are individuals who possess exotic tastes and ones who can be aggressive, passionate and encompassing in the romantic arena. It is important to remember that it is the love of life that inspires Leo natives and they can be wonderfully creative and experimental souls, particularly if they feel secure. Leo individuals are as proud in passion...or perhaps even more so...as they are in any other area of life. The more appreciated and cherished a Leo subject feels, then the more expressive and passionate he or she will become.

The gambling instinct is inherent in all Leo natives and this will also apply to their attitude regarding affairs of the heart. These are individuals who tend to take risks and sometimes, will make mistakes. Indeed, many Leo subjects marry more than once. The glorious optimism and warmth of Leo attracts similar type partners. When young, this Sign has no time or patience for the more timid sweetheart and those ruled by Leo will spend a great deal of time juggling with romantic prospects. Leo wants a partner of whom he or she can be proud. Thus, these natives are prone to fall in love with someone they admire. No sacrifice in the name of love is too great for Leo individuals but, once the loving has ceased, then any partner will need to beware since this Sign can be totally unforgiving when crossed. This may sound rather terrible but in truth, it is not. Leo subjects are proud and sunny souls who radiate warmth and happiness, but they are often not sufficiently subtle to detect the presence of unhappiness in those who are close to them. In short, they frequently fail to realize that all is not well in a relationship. Here, personal values provide much self-confidence, yet natives of Leo are continually disappointed in the actions and motives of others. This is why they are destined to be thwarted in love at least once. Still, Leo subjects are renowned for their ability to always come up fighting.

They tend to take people who love them for granted and this is quite a negative trait as the relationship could turn into a love-hate one.

Love and Relation

Although romantic opportunities are plentiful for them, choosing a life-long partner is rather difficult. Their natural tendency is towards the casual affair, but after a while even they will get bored of this pattern. Here, then, is their challenge: they need to learn to settle down and compromise a little --unlike most of the challenges they're used to winning, this one requires giving up a little to succeed, quite the opposite of what they're used to. Furthermore, they're so open, straightforward, and generous with their heart that their sincerity can easily be manipulated.

A relationship with the daring yet devoted Lion will rarely prove dull. This showy cat may need to be lavished with attention, but can also ravish a lover with riches in return. The Lion would most love a slow, smoldering pas de deux that leads to mutual bliss. Fiery Leo requires a lover who can keep up with them and certainly one who can match their wits. If not, the risk of boredom and flight is great, since Leo has very high expectations. A partner who can understand and indulge the Lion's need to be the centre of attention will be the one to hold on to this regal cat. The ideal Leo soul mate understands the pleasure principle and will work hard to keep their mate satisfied.

Male

Leo man can be the sincerest and the most generous lover and admirer.

When it comes to the choice of a partner, The Leo male is attracted to a woman he can be proud to be seen with one who makes him look good and wins admiring glances, which will reflect favorably upon him. A woman who emits an air of the dramatic or who appears regal and aloof is particularly appealing and this male may well select a mate based more upon good looks or popularity than for true compatibility on all levels. In short, this male desires a woman who is glamorous but who is also worthy of admiration and respect. Of course, it will expect that such admiration and respect be returned. Men who fall under the jurisdiction of Leo also expect loyalty and need to feel appreciated. Above all else, however, the Leo man needs to be noticed. Feeling ignored or unappreciated will make this male feel insecure, thus, he can be rather easily enticed by a female who flatters him with praise and/or rapt attention. Women who are of the "bossy" type tend to hold great appeal for the Leo male by passion and drama. The male ruled by Leo is passionate and insistent. As a husband, he will never give his wife a dull moment and as a father, he likes to play games with his children and they mean a lot to him. However, when they go too far, he will emit his infamous roar, send them off to bed. and then blame his partner for the lack of discipline. Nonetheless, females tend to find the Leo man a lovable if maddening character. Although somewhat ambitious and self-centered, the male Leo is certainly no egotist and delights in sharing what riches he may have with his loved one

Female

Leo woman it’s difficult to put into life her romantic dream and secret ambition: to find a man that will raise her to the throne she has the right to be.

A Leo woman thinks she is beautiful and often it’s really so. She is afraid of giving herself physically because of the fear to loose her beauty.

The Leo female is attracted by a male who radiates warmth and shows affection in a physical way. The interest is heightened if the male in question happens to be rich, famous, powerful and/or handsome. thus, does such a man's glory reflect favorably upon the Leo woman. A male who commands respect will also be appealing to this female, as will one who is generous as long as he can afford to be. The woman ruled by Leo may be particularly attracted to her boss or males who are leaders in some fashion. There is also a certain attraction here to men who are in the creative arena such as actors, artistes, musicians or performer.

Virgo is conservative and nitpicker; Leo is extrovert and spendthrift. Virgo is unable to understand Leo but Leo is impressed by Virgo's intellectualism. To win's Vigoan's heart Leo needs lot of patience. Leo appreciates Virgo's cleverness and alertness and he also needs appreciation and flattery from his partner. Leo is the leader in the business and Virgo takes second place. The differences between this couple is much which should be sorted out to make the relationship better.

Leo - Libra. These two signs both possess exceptionally warm characters, but the compatibility for these signs just is not there. The sun ruling Leo and Venus ruling Libra usually form a strong and luxurious aspect of relationship. They make a good combination when together as both are artistic, extrovert, extravagant and do not care for their money. Each wants to gets the attention of other. Leo's ego gets sometimes bolster by Libran who at times may be helped out by a Leo.

Leo - Scorpio. Combination is very powerful between these two mates in spite of lot of indifferences between them. Marriage life is happy and successful but jealousy plays a major role between them. Leo - Sagittarius. Combination of two Fire signs makes an excellent relationship between these two mates. Both had similar interests, likes fun, freedom and pleasure and are social in their nature. Leo is the one who can keep Sagittarius faithful. Both are good life partners and had a pleasant and fun filled life together. The only problem between them is both are dominant. Capricorn is much careful when spending money but Leo is careless. Capricorn can't provide the affection and love demanded by romantic Leo. Both are almost opposite to each other and their relationship can work only when there is some willingness in them.

Leo - Aquarius. They are both pride-filled signs with fixed opinions, which will cause them many arguments. Leo's ego often gets deflated by independent Aquarius. They are quite different from each other starting from their personality to their behavior. Both believes in giving rather than taking for themselves. Leo extrovert nature clashes with Piscean unworldly attitude. Piscean sensitiveness often stand as a obstacle in the way of active Leo. The relationship surprisingly goes well as one gets adjusted with other.

Compatibility

They harmonize best with Aries and Sagittarius. There is mutual help and support with: Libra and Gemini. They either repel or attract: Aquarius. They may ignore, avoid or adapt to Taurus and Scorpio.

They’ll find their truest companion to be Aquarius. It's their zodiacal opposite, but there are few conflicts here. The both prize their fellow man, believe in the same ideals, and admire creative pursuits in different and complementary ways. Their fire-sign relatives, Aries and Sagittarius, are also natural companions, but on a more casual level. Like them, they're used to being the leaders, but they'll allow them to preside over those areas they're good for them.

They'll want to avoid partnerships with Gemini (they're mostly mind-oriented, they are all heart), Capricorn (they'll overpower them, and they're not likely to forgive their mistakes), and Pisces (they'll hurt them before they even realize it, and they'll harbor a long resentment).

Health

Overwork, anxiety, heart problems, lower back pains, and ailments connected with overindulgence are their most likely physical complaints.

Leo rules the heart, spinal cord, liver metabolism, spleen, pulmonary arteries and aorta, superior and inferior vena cava. Leo governs the back and forearm.

The diseases of Leo mainly involve the heart, most seriously occlusion of cardiac arteries by blood clot or occlusion bringing on a heart attack. Nervous tension can affect the heart with palpitations and the like. The fire of Leo tends to fevers, especially heart-related issues such as "pericarditis" and rheumatic heart disease and is linked to jaundice and eye problems.

Leo Women's health problems are generally related to heart, the spinal column and bones. Their health problems also stem from a view that everything should run according to their wish and when it fails to happen they get irritable and majorly stressed.

Physiologically, Leo governs the upper back, forearms, wrist, spine and heart. The ailments related to Leo are pain in the back and lungs, spinal complaints, diseases of the heart and blood, sickness in ribs and sides, convulsions, pleasantries, violent burning fevers including, in former days when they were prevalent, plague and pestilence jaundice and some afflictions of the eyes.

They should take care by way of proper food and regular exercise. They should take very long walks and do a lot of physical work to ward off the stress from their body. All spicy and stimulating foods and drinks should be avoided. Recommended foods for Leo is spinach, raisins, and dates and plums, pears, and oranges etc.

The Leo usually puts up a brave fight to overcome without calling upon others for help. On giving up, Leo person is usually very sick though he recovers rapidly from illness.

Career

If there's someone who likes being the centre of attention, it's a Leo. And why not? Those born under this Sign are giving, proud, energetic, confident -- the world can't help but look! That is as it should be, says the Lion. They're firebrands with plenty of smolder in their eyes and a golden glow all around. Leos are focused in their work and make excellent team leaders. The Lion is also a risk-taker, someone who wants the world (for starters) and often gets it.

Whether it's for a big project or a noble cause, getting the Lion to jump on board is a shrewd move – and one that's sure to attract attention! These folks can't help but be in the limelight, thanks to their larger-than-life personality. Hand-in-hand with this is an infectiously positive attitude. Colleagues are often quick to seek out the Lion as a role model, since those signature qualities of leadership, truth and justice are ones that many seek. However, Leos must be careful not to indulge in selfishness or manipulation or to fall into a state of complacency.

As much as the Lion likes being in the spotlight, there really is plenty of room for a team to assemble all around. Is there a game to be won? A deal to close? The Lion's team is the winning team, and a happy bunch of cats it is.

The Leo keeps his office as a den of a lion. Big, vast, king-size, with royal accessories. One can make out that its a Office of a Leo! They will be able to make money as a public speaker, writer, actor or entertainer. Leos can best work as managers, teachers, architects, inventors, athletes and Presidents.

Finance

The star of the Zodiac has arrived! Leos love to be center stage, playing to an adoring audience. They also love beauty and riches and often seem to be pampered with both. When not on stage, it's easy to spot the Lion in a crowd. They're always the most magnetic presence in the room, surrounded in an almost golden glow. Leos are usually on a mission to find their right place in the (business) world. If they're chosen to lead -- well, some things just make perfect sense!

Leos enjoy taking a risk, but generally only if the odds are in their favor. They hate to lose (and look bad!). It's not surprising for Las Vegas to beckon to the Lion who loves glamour and glitz along with some shiny new coins. The Lion's gambling streak can be a good thing, as long as ego doesn't get in the way and lead to bad business decisions.

Lions firmly believe that money is there to give them everything they deserve, whether it be a great house, a zippy sports car, or more toys than they can play with. Extravagance is their middle name! They'll find a way to make money, because they surely know how to spend it -- and will. "There's more where that came from" is never far from the Lion's mind.

Managing money would definitely crimp the Lion's freewheeling style -- hey, these are the folks who originated the champagne and caviar party! The accountant (or partner) can add up the damage. If Leos do overspend, they're generally resourceful enough to get back on track. When things get really bad, a visit will be paid to the banker since the proud Lion could never borrow from a friend. And admit they're not king of the hill? Never!

The Lion's secret to success, however, may be a very generous spirit. These folks would lend their last penny, and since what goes around comes around, they'll always find their way to a few more. Leo knows the cup is half full, and more often than not, their cup runneth over!

Surprisingly, they sometimes have a problem settling into a career. This is because they know they were born to lead, and therefore they have little patience working their way up the ladder. Realistically, they can't expect to just inherit the chairmanship of a corporation out of college (although Leos are known for their good fortune when it comes to this sort of thing).

They will have to bide their time for awhile, at least, until their talents and popularity become obvious to those in charge. If they simply do not have the patience to be an underling for a while, they have to try employing them self. Quite a few Leos are entertainers; others have successfully created their own businesses.

If they choose the corporate route, then they must use their organizing skills. They have to take advantage of those opportunities that arise when people begin to naturally come to them for advice, and make sure everyone notices how skilled they are at handling problems and challenges.
