Your name and your birth date are
the data base from which a numerologist is able to describe you, sight
unseen. Number values are assigned to the letters in your name. By
adding these -- with the numbers in your birth date -- in a multitude
of combinations, a numerologist establishes your key numbers. He then
interprets the meaning of these key numbers, which results in a complete
description of your personal characteristics.
The numbers of our name describe
the things we were born knowing. The numbers of our birth date describe
the things we need to learn. As you examine your Numerology Reading,
you'll find a great deal of insight about yourself.
Some people are skeptical that a
series of numbers associated with letters can foretell how you should
live your life and what your future will be.
Numerology is the language of numbers
and their symbolic significance. Numerology uses numbers to describe
who a person is and what the destiny holds for a native. It is the
study of numbers and each number has its own vibration and its own
vibratory influence. The basic numbers are 1 - 9. Each number has
a hidden meaning and an interesting importance. Just as the right
medical attention can cure a patient, similarly right astrological
guidance can help solve many a problem. Although numerology has gained
most of its popularity within recent years, it is one of the oldest
of the occult sciences. In numerology nothing happens by chance. When
you come into this world, it is with a unique set of vibrations and
purposes. The name you are given at your birth contains some of these
vibrations as does your birth date.
Numerology is considered as the easiest
way to know about the person and predict the future, It is most authentic
and accurate science. Astrology blends and adds a dimension to Numerology
by comparing a number with an astrological sign and this additional
knowledge assists the numerologist in illustrating and explaining
the significance and importance of integrating and intermingling other
proven sciences into the translation and power of Numerology.
The "energy" represented
by these numbers can have a profound influence on your personality,
health, and well being. Numerology is one way of tapping into their
power.
The best use of Numerology, and any
divination tool, is one in which you use it as a life enhancing tool
that can help you to unlock your potential.
Each number, which is given in the
chart, have certain energies attached to them. How you act on those
energies depends on you. If you are generally conscious of your activities,
and think before you act then you may be tapping into the "Positive/Mature"
side of the energy. If you generally act in a rash manner then you
may be tapping into the "negative" side of the energies.
Aim
The purpose of numerology is not
to foretell the future, but to provide you with keys to explore and
discover your own potentials and destinies. In numerology your name
and birth date represent a path chosen by your higher, spiritual self.
On these paths will be certain opportunities and special lessons designed
for your own growth. Everyone has a universal or karmic pattern. The
inner self knows its needs and chooses ways to fulfill them. Numerology
is a way to communicate with your inner self.
From earliest times humans have watched
the heavens and recorded the dates of their births. These dates are
used to calculate one's destiny. According to numerology, only a name
and number rule a person. The native will encounter opportunities
and difficulties in life according to the influence of numbers in
his/her life. In numerology the birth date represents a strong force
in your life since it is one vibration that never changes. You bring
in new conditions each time you change your name, but the birth path
remains the same. Your birth date numbers tell you the types of people
you are likely to meet and form relationships with. You can find the
most harmonious profession for you.
Numerology has been attacked for
going against the laws and teachings of God. In fact, just the reverse
is true. The Bible, the Talmud, the Koran, even the Egyptian Book
of the Dead, have alluded to numbers in ways that require interpretation
by people of wisdom. Numerology refers to any of many systems, traditions
or beliefs in a mystical or esoteric relationship between numbers
and physical objects or living things.
Numerology and numerological divination
were popular among early mathematicians, such as Pythagoras, but are
no longer considered part of mathematics and are regarded as pseudo
mathematics by most scientists. This is similar to the historical
development of astronomy out of astrology, and chemistry from alchemy.
But the real attractiveness of numerology,
over say palm or crystal reading or other non-numerical personality
analysis and prophecy, is that numbers give the quackery an aura of
both scientific and mystical authoritativeness, especially if complex
statistical analysis is involved.
Certainly, the Pythagoreans were
a cult with esoteric notions about the universe and numbers, including
the notion of the harmony of the spheres. No doubt they found something
mystical about the relations of sides of triangles, which we have
come to know as the Pythagorean theorem. But there is no evidence
that Pythagoras thought he could analyze his disciples' personalities
by assigning numbers to the letters of their names and their birth
dates.
For one thing, he would have realized
the unreasonableness of such a notion. Different languages have different
alphabets; different cultures use different calendars. It is unreasonable
enough to think the universe is arranged according to numerical transcriptions
of names, but to think that there are several equivalent transcriptions
to accommodate cultural differences stretches the limits of credibility
almost to infinity. Even if the universe were so unreasonably designed,
how would we ever know which "reading" of a person's numbers
is the "correct" one? Does the concept of "correct
reading" even have meaning in this so-called discipline?
It is one thing to recognize that
many things in the universe can be explained by reduction to mathematical
formulae. The formulae can be tested and demonstrated to be accurate
or not. It is quite another to claim that somehow the name you are
given at birth was preordained to coincide with the date of your birth
and to be coordinated with certain numbers so that certain special
people (the numerologists!) could calculate from this data who you
are, what you will be, what you need and feel, and what you should
do. It is a long, long way from Plato's admonition to those entering
his Academy that they should know geometry, or from Galileo's assertion
that Nature is written in the language of mathematics, to the notion
that numbers related to my name are a key to who I am pre-destined
to be. It is a misrepresentation of history to cite mathematical mystics
or scientists who have been enamored of mathematics, as fellow travelers.
In any case, even if Pythagoras, Plato, Kepler, Galileo, and Einstein
were all numerologists it would not make the theory of numerology
one iota more plausible.
Working of Numerology
All the numerologist needs from
you is your “full name and birth date”. Number values
are assigned to the letters in your name. The numerologist will then
add those in a multitude of combinations with your birth date, to
establish your key numbers.
These key numbers are then being interpreted, which leads to a complete
description of your personal characteristics.
Numerology is the study of numbers, and the occult manner in which
they reflect certain aptitudes and character tendencies, as an integral
part of the cosmic plan. You need the birth date of an individual
and the complete name as inputs to unlock all of the secrets that
the numbers hold. There are nine numbers used in constructing numerology
charts. These numbers are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. Each alphabetical
letter has been assigned a numeric value that provides a related cosmic
vibration.
Thus larger numbers that occur from adding the numbers in the complete
birth date or from the values assigned to each name are reduced by
adding the digits together until the sum achieved is one of the core
numbers. The sum of the numbers in your birth date and the sum
of value derived from the letters in the name provide an interrelation
of vibrations. These numbers show a great deal about character, purpose
in life, what motivates, and where talents may lie. These numbers
had made numerology which specializes in names (baby names, domain
names, individual names, business names, etc...).
Finding out more about yourself will enable you to develop in ways,
which may have seemed impossible before. Numerology will help you
make the most out of your strengths, as well as deal better with your
weaknesses.
The accuracy of Numerology Science is amazing in its depth of detail
and comparable to an Astrological Reading in its overall completeness.

Theory
It's been said that numbers are the closest thing we have to a universal
language. They are what they are, and as a rule, aren't subjective
or emotional in nature, which is why they are also the language of
science.
Numbers by themselves are fairly interesting, but when you use them
to build a system to help you understand yourself and the universe
around you, you have a subject that is fascinating and has held our
attention for thousands of years.
In a nutshell, numerology is based on the belief that the name you
were given at birth and the day, month and year you were born influence
who you are and what potentials lie before you over the course of
your lifetime.
Pythagoras (who is most commonly - and mistakenly - credited as the
"Father of Numerology") believed that the entire universe
is composed of mathematical patterns, and that all things can be expressed
in numbers that correspond to universal vibrations.
This is another approach to what quantum physicists have been saying
for quite some time now, and that is that when you get right down
to the most basic level, the universe is made up of fluctuations of
energy - vibrations, in other words. And as we know from our high
school science classes, vibrations can be expressed mathematically
in terms of frequency and amplitude. Which is just another way of
saying that the universe can be expressed as a (very large) series
of numbers.
Abracadabra
Abracadabra is a less frequently
used form of numerological interpretation. It is based on the subject's
name, and uses a series of triangles to arrive at numerical values
that provide information about character and events.
Different Kinds of Numerology
The three major forms of numerology in use today are the Kabbalah,
the Chaldean and the Pythagorean. I use aspects of all three when
I prepare and interpret charts.
Kabbalah (Hebrew Alphabet)
The Kabbalah ( which means knowledge that comes through the mind and
soul rather than through a flesh and blood teacher) originated in
Hebrew mysticism, and interprets only the meaning of the name. The
Kabbalah was developed for the Hebrew alphabet, and therefore has
only 22 vibrations ranging from 1 to 400. It was adapted for the Greek
alphabet, then further adapted for the Roman alphabet.
New Kabbalah
A New Kabbalah has also been developed
for use with the modern Roman alphabet. It, too, is based on name,
and relies on Pythagorean methods to determine time periods. The New
Kabbalah is concerned more with events than character.
The two most popular methods of numerology
are Pythagorean and Chaldean.
Though each is a different system,
with distinct differences, they both are in agreement on certain things.

Chaldean numerology was originally
developed in Ancient Babylon (now Iraq), and combines Kabalistic name
interpretation with aspects of astrology. The 9 is considered holy
and therefore is kept apart from other vibrations, except
when it results as the sum of vibrations (e.g., from an individual's
name). In Chaldean numerology, compound numbers always used. Single
digits represent the outer aspects of a person, while double
digits reveal inner influences.
Chaldean System

system. It gives an occult or mystical meaning. It uses name most
known and shows the behind unseen forces. Its conversion is out of
sequence. It is not known who originally taught it, but it predates
the Pythagorean system. In this method Birthday affects personality
and health tendencies given at birth. The Single and Compound number
are both important.

The Pythagorean method was developed
by Pythagoras, a Greek mathematician and metaphysician who lived during
the 6th century BCE. He was most widely known for his proposition
that the square of the hypotenuse of a right triangle is equal to
the sum of the squares of the other two sides.
Pythagoras was as interested in metaphysics and spiritual development
as he was in math, so it's no wonder he joined the two disciplines.
He studied at the Hermetic (after Hermes, messenger of the gods) Wisdom
Schools of the Egyptian holy city of Heliopolis (later named Alexandria)
and incorporated many of the same teaching techniques with his own
students in Greece.
The right triangle was Pythagoras' "Eureka" (which means
"I found it"). The right triangle can also be used to symbolize
the world of an individual and serves as the original basis for the
numerological interpretation of the life pattern of an individual.
Like the Chaldean method, Pythagorean numerology analyzes both name
and date of birth, and the interaction between the two. The basic
vibrations are 1 through 9, although the 11 (K) and 22 (V) are not
reduced to a single digit because these are master vibrations.
Pythagorean System

to use. It gives a more materialistic meaning and uses full name given
at birth. Its conversion is done in sequence and all compound numbers
reduce to single numbers.
Pythagoras - Father of Western
Numerology
Pythagoras was born on the island
of Samos, in the 6th century BC. Little is known about the early part
of his life. He traveled extensively throughout Southern Europe, North
Africa, and the Middle East and probably lived and studied for some
time in Egypt. He later established a school on Kroton, in Southern
Italy, where he taught Mathematics, Astronomy, and Music.
As a teacher, he was respected and
feared. Many people considered him dangerous. In an attempt to safeguard
his school, his students were sworn to secrecy and were not allowed
to write anything down.
He is most often associated with
the theorem in his name. Certainly, he is held in the highest regard
as one of the preeminent mathematicians of all time. However, it was
his passion for learning, for truth, and for the discovery of grace
and harmony in all aspects of life that sets him apart from other
philosophers
It is believed that Pythagoras lived
to be almost a hundred years old. He died when his school was attacked
and burned to the ground.
The Western form of Numerology
The Pythagorean system, is among
the most enduring and popular of all self-help methods ever created.
The Chinese, Japanese, Greek, Hebrews, Egyptians, Phoenicians, early
Christians, Mayans, and Incas, all employed some form of numerology
to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and the universe.
Pythagorean numerology was organized
by Greek philosopher and mathematician Pythagoras, who combined the
mathematical disciplines of the Arabic, Druid, Phoenician, Egyptian,
and Essene sciences. Since then, it has continued to evolve. The Pythagorean
system is today the most commonly used system of numerology in the
West.
Application of Numerology
Numerology can help you better understand
yourself, your strengths and weaknesses, what you need to work on
and what you have to work with, where you are coming from and the
heights you can yet reach. It's all there in your cosmic name and
in your date of birth. The name initially given at birth is called
the cosmic name. It reflects your goals, talents, lessons and debts,
in essence, your reasons for being here. Changing your name can enhance
or detract from your ability to fulfill your mission in life, but
it does not change these factors.
The day of the month on which you
were born - regardless of which month or year it is - is an important
numerological indicator, providing an excellent "thumbnail sketch"
of standout traits. It strongly influences the most productive period
of your life, and is one of the four key numbers in a chart. (The
other three are the Soul Urge, Expression and the Life Path).
The Soul Urge is found by adding
together all the vibrations of the vowels. It reveals the longings
of the soul, the goals and motivations in life. The sum of the vibrations
of the consonants is the Quiet Self. It indicates the unique talents
that help you reach your goals and, because it operates on a more
subconscious level, is expressed as if describing a dream. The total
of all of the vibrations in the name is the Expression. This is the
face you show the world, the traits that others see most readily.
You may find that you vibrate to one or more of these numbers, i.e.,
feel a particular draw to them without consciously knowing why.
The vibrations that do not appear
at all in your cosmic name indicate Karmic Lessons, the areas in which
you are here to learn, qualities that have not been fully developed
in other lives or were developed but then lost (usually by neglect).
It should note that numerological charting is predicated on reincarnation
and a belief that there is some degree of choice operating at the
soul level when re-entering this dimension. Our names reflect those
choices in terms of what we want to undertake in a particular lifetime.
in the chart (such as Soul Urge, Expression, Life Path or Day of Birth).
This, of course, is no accident, since we are not casual tourists
on this plane. We come here with a purpose and equip ourselves with
the tools needed to achieve it.
Theoretically, there can be as many
as 8 Karmic Lessons (if a person were given a name consisting of a
repetition of a single vibration). In practice, most people have between
one and three Karmic Lessons. More than three lessons is a difficult
and burdensome undertaking; when more than three lessons have been
chosen, it is best to focus on lessons that are supported by other
chart aspects because these lessons are more likely to be mastered.
It is also increasingly common to encounter persons with all of the
basic vibrations present. This can be an indicator of an Old Soul,
one with many experiences in this dimension, who seeks to grow by
re mastering and refining ALL the lessons. It may also be found in
concert with an especially heavy karmic debt represented by a Malefic
Number, although Malefic Numbers can occur with or without Karmic
Lessons.
The term Malefic comes from the Latin
word for bad, which gives malefic numbers an onerous sound. What they
actually indicate is an abuse in another life that is to be balanced
in this life. They are significant when found in any of the key positions,
i.e., Soul Urge, Expression, Life Path and, to a somewhat lesser degree,
Day of Birth. The Malefic numbers are 13, 14, 16 and 19. When a Malefic
Number is found in the Soul Urge, it will interfere with the individual's
personal life, upsetting his or her dreams and hopes. Malefic Numbers
in the Expression interfere with the outer life, i.e., business and
career. When found on the Life Path, Malefic Numbers take their toll
in all aspects of life.
Your name is only half of your story.
Your date of birth - regardless of what time or where you were born
- fleshes out the whole person. The digits of the date of birth reveal
additional character traits, but are primarily reflective of the types
of events that can be expected during specific periods of your life.
The Life Path is calculated by adding together the digits of the date
of birth, then reducing them by again adding the sum together until
the result is a number between 1 and 9. This gives an overall "tone"
for the course of your life. Also calculated from the date of birth
are shorter periods, cycles and pinnacles. These add further definition
to the Life Path and allow you to better understand the kinds of experiences
that you will face at various times. The special challenges you face
are derived from your date of birth, which is also the source of personal
year, month and day information. Taken together, these serve as "life
almanacs" to help you prepare, plan and make the most of your
time in this plane of experience.
History
Historically, we run into the same problem that we encounter when
we try to examine the origins of palmistry, and that is that there
doesn't appear to be any solid proof as to when numerology was first
developed.
It's generally accepted that the ancient cultures of China, India
and Egypt were familiar with numerology long before the Greeks began
using it, but most books still credit Pythagoras as being the father
of numerology.
You probably remember Pythagoras from your high school geometry class
- you know, for any right-angled triangle, the square of the long
side is equal to the sum of the square of the short sides.
To make a long story short, the teachings of Pythagoras were adopted
by Plato and studied by early Christian scholars, including such notables
as St. Augustine. This in turn led to the expansion of numerology
during the Renaissance, and it continues to be studied and practiced
today.
Historians believe that modern numerology is an integration of the
teachings from Ancient Babylonia, Pythagoras and his followers, (6th
century B.C. Greece) Astrological philosophy from Hellenistic Alexandria,
early Christian mysticism, the occultism of the early Gnostics and
the Hebrew system of the Kabbalah. The Indian Vedas, the Chinese "Circle
of the Dead”, and the Egyptian "Book of the Master of the
Secret House", (Ritual of the Dead) are records giving strong
evidence that Numerology dates back thousands of years.
Pythagoras and other philosophers
of the time believed that because mathematical concepts were more
"practical" (easier to regulate and classify) than physical
ones, they had greater actuality. This is an idea in harmony with
philosophical pragmatism and a choice for permanent concepts over
changeable physicality.
St. Augustine of Hippo (A.D. 354
- 430) wrote " Numbers are the Universal language offered by
the deity to humans as confirmation of the truth." Similar to
Pythagoras, he too believed that everything had numerical relationships
and it was up to the mind to seek and investigate the secrets of these
relationships or have them revealed by divine grace.
In 325 A.D., following the First
Council of Nicaea, departures from the beliefs of the state Church
were classified as civil violations within the Roman Empire. Numerology
had not found favor with the Christian authority of the day. It was
assigned to the field of unapproved beliefs along with astrology and
other forms of divination and "magic." Through this religious
purging, the spiritual significance assigned to the heretofore "sacred"
numbers began to disappear. In spite of this suppression there were
still many devout believers, who kept the secret knowledge locked
away.
An example of the influence of numerology
in English literature is Sir Thomas Browne's 1658 Discourse The Garden
of Cyrus. In it the author illustrates that the number five and related
Quincunx pattern throughout art, nature and mysticism. The Discourse
is a late example of the influence of Pythagorean thought in English
philosophy.
Most of the earliest teachings were
transmitted orally, only to the initiated, because the information
was considered very powerful and sacred. Pythagoras, a philosopher
and mathematician, lived and taught in Southern Greece in the sixth
century B.C.
Although little can be confirmed
about Pythagoras directly, his teachings spawned a philosophical and
religious movement, called Pythagorism that spread throughout the
Roman Empire. You were taught his mathematical theories in high school
geometry. Pythagoras' belief that reality is mathematical -- that
order is created out of chaos through numbers -- is the principle
on which numerology is founded. Numerologists believe that everything,
including abstract concepts, can be converted into numbers and that
those numbers have specific meanings.
By finding the number value of any
word or name, you can discover its hidden meaning. The teachings of
Pythagoras were taken up by Plato and reinforced by the writings of
the Jewish Cabala.
Continued interest by early Christian
scholars, such as St. Augustine, led to the widespread use of numerology
during the Renaissance. At that time, numerology was accepted by everyone
from the most learned academics to the least educated laymen.
Numerology, along with astrology,
Tarot, the I Ching, and other occult arts, has experienced a revival
in recent years. For their readings, modern numerologists have adopted
the original Pythagorean system. It is a simple system that assigns
a number value (from one to nine) to every letter of the alphabet:
A is 1, B is 2, and so on.
In standard addition, you add 6+9=15
for the correct answer. In Numerology, this is not enough: it uses
a further method of addition known as the "Fadic" system,
or "natural addition".
This simply means you keep adding
two or more numbers together until you arrive at one single digit.
Taking our example of 6+9, 6 and 9 adds up to 15, but in Numerology
you add 1+5, for a final answer of 6. You must then know what each
number from 1 to 9 represents.
Reading numbers
Numerologists apply definitions to
numbers. They use these definitions in conjunction with each other,
to find the meaning of what ever they may be describing. Upon digit
summing, they will combine the definitions within an equation to find
their interaction, which in turn defines the base. Such as: the equation
32/5 would be described as the base definition of 5 being created
through the interaction of numbers 3 and 2. (This example, in simple
definition, would be: action being created by union and communication).

Definitions of the various digits

Digit summing
Numerologists often reduce a number
or word by a process known as digit summing, then reach conclusions
based on the single digit that is produced.
Digit summing, as the name implies,
involves taking the sum of all of the digits in a number, and repeating
the process as necessary until a single-digit answer is produced.
For a word, the values corresponding to each letter's place in the
alphabet (e.g., A=1, B=2, through Z=26) are summed.
Examples
3,489 -> 3 + 4 + 8 + 9 = 24 ->
2 + 4 = 6.
Hello -> 8 + 5 + 12 + 12 + 15 = 52 -> 5 + 2 = 7.
A quicker way to arrive at a single-digit
"summation" is simply to take the value modulo 9, substituting
a possible result of 0 with 9 itself.
The resulting numbers are usually
assigned definitions to provide the desired insight. Definitions for
the meaning of each digit vary among cultures and systems. Frequently,
0 is said to correspond to the infinite or to nothingness; 1 to the
individual; and 2 to union. Beyond that, definitions vary widely.
Different methods of calculation
exist, including Chaldean, Pythagorean, Hebraic, Helyn Hitchcock's
method, Phonetic, Japanese and Indian.
In some cases, in a type of numerological
divination, the name and birth date of an individual will be used
to analyze and define personality and propensities.
Numerology and The Numbers Mean
The primary vibrations are 1 through
9, plus master vibrations of 11 and 22. Vibrations above 9 can be
reduced to primary by adding the digits together. For example, 10,
19 and 28 are "1's" because 1 + 0 = 1, 1 + 9 = 10 = 1 +
0 = 1, and 2 + 8 = 10 = 1 + 0 = 1.
The reduced vibrations are by nature
general. The basic vibrations give information that can be helpful
and is summarized by key words associated with each. You will notice
that the characteristics associated with each vibration are both positive
and negative, which illustrates my point about the general nature
of reduced vibrations.
1
Creativity, independence, originality, ego, self.
2 Empathy, cooperation,
consideration, over-sensitivity, co-dependence.
3 Artistic expression,
sociability, friendliness, superficiality, wastefulness.
4
Practicality, application, loyalty, rigidity, repression.
5 Freedom, adaptability,
travel, inconsistency, abuse of senses.
6 Love, responsibility,
understanding, meddling, jealousy.
7 Spirituality,
mental analysis, wisdom, fault finding, suppression.
8 Executive
ability, management, power, materiality, unscrupulousness.
9 Artistic genius,
humanitarianism, romance, emotionalism, dissipation.
11 Intuition, idealism,
invention, insensitivity, fanaticism.
22 Practical idealism,
material mastery, get-rich-quick schemes, viciousness.
The 11 (K) and 22 (V) are master
vibrations, and therefore are not reduced when doing chart calculations.
When these vibrations are active in an individual's life they can
be reduced by the way that person lives them, and in such instances,
they take on the negative aspects of the reduced vibration. Thus an
individual can turn the imagination and inspiration of the 11 into
the leaning, whining co-dependence of the negative 2, or the material
mastery and world vision of the 22 into the stingy drudgery of the
negative 4.
Master Numbers in numerology
There are 3 double-digit numbers
that, while they are rooted in the single-digit numbers, require special
emphasis and attention. These are 11, 22, and 33.
They are called Master numbers because
they possess more potential than other numbers. They are highly charged,
difficult to handle, and require time, maturity, and great effort
to integrate into one's personality.
The 11 is the most intuitive of all
numbers. It represents illumination; a channel to the subconscious;
insight without rational thought; and sensitivity, nervous energy,
shyness, and impracticality. It is a dreamer. The 11 has all the aspects
of the 2, enhanced and charged with charisma, leadership, and inspiration.
It is a number with inborn duality, which creates dynamism, inner
conflict, and other catalyses with its mere presence. It is a number
that, when not focused on some goal beyond itself, can be turned inward
to create fears and phobias. The 11 walks the edge between greatness
and self-destruction. Its potential for growth, stability, and personal
power lies in its acceptance of intuitive understanding, and of spiritual
truths. For the 11, such peace is not found so much in logic, but
in faith. It is the psychic's number.
The 22 is the most powerful of all
numbers. It is often called the Master Builder. The 22 can turn the
most ambitious of dreams into reality. It is potentially the most
successful of all numbers. It has many of the inspirational insights
of the 11, combined with the practicality and methodical nature of
the 4. It is unlimited, yet disciplined. It sees the archetype, and
brings it down to earth in some material form. It has big ideas, great
plans, idealism, leadership, and enormous self-confidence. If not
practical, the 22s waste their potential. Like the 11, the 22 can
easily shrink from its own ambition, causing difficult interior pressures.
Both the 11 and the 22 experience the pressure-cooker effect very
strongly, particularly at an early age. It must work toward the realization
of goals that are larger than personal ambition. The 22 serves the
world in a practical way.
The 33 is the most influential of
all numbers. It is the Master Teacher. The 33 combines the 11 and
the 22 and brings their potential to another level. When expressed
to the fullest, the 33 lacks all personal ambition, and instead focuses
its considerable abilities toward the spiritual uplifting of mankind.
What makes the 33 especially impressive is the high level of sincere
devotion. This is shown in its determination to seek understanding
and wisdom before preaching to others. The 33 in full force is extremely
rare.
The number 33 only matters when found
among the core numbers- The Life Path, Heart's Desire, Expression,
Personality, Maturity number, or as an Essence cycle or Pinnacle cycle.
In all other cases the 33 should be reduced to a 6.
The fact that the 33 is extra-ordinary
demanding and rare can be seen symbolically in the methods of calculation.
For example, a 33 Life Path can happen
only when each of the 3 units of the birth date (month/year/day) add
to 11. Or when the year adds to 22 (in the 20th century there are
only 7 years that add to 22- 1939, 48, 57, 66, 75, 84, and 93) and
the month and day of birth combined total is 11. And finally, when
the birth day is 22 and the month and year of birth total 11.
Another way to look at the

The Master numbers 11, 22, and 33
represent a triangle. A triangle of Enlightenment.

The number 11 represents the vision.
The number 22 combines vision with action.
The number 33 offers guidance to the world.
Numerology and the Double-Digit
Numbers
Every one of the cardinal numbers
can be based on several different compound numbers. The 7, for instance,
can be based on 16, 25, 34, 43, 52, 61, or 70. (It cannot be based
on 79 or 88 except indirectly, because 79 and 88 are 16.) When a 7
is based on 25, it is slightly different from a 7 based on 34 or 61.
For this reason, the double-digit numbers is included in the chart.
7 is written based on 25 in this manner: 25/7; and a 7 based on 34
like this: 34/7.
A double-digit number's characteristics
are dominated by that of the single digit it represents. First and
foremost, it is that cardinal number.
The double-digit number highlights
certain aspects, and diminishes others, but it never eliminates any
aspect completely. You may want to study the double-digit numbers
in your personal chart to see if you can gain additional insight or
clarity.
For example, a 7 based on 25 is not
as withdrawn as a 7 based on a 16. A 7 based on 34 is more creative
that the 7 based on a 25.
The already considerable leadership
ability of a 1 is enhanced in the 10. As a rule, numbers that are
dividable by 10 strengthen the characteristics of the single-digit
number across the board. A 10 is a high octave 1, a 40 is a high octave
4, and a 70 is a high octave 7.
Below is a short description of double-digit

Karmic Debt Numbers in numerology
Numerology is based on the ancient
idea that each of us is a spiritual being, or a soul, who incarnates
on the earth many times in order to further evolve toward higher states
of awareness.
During our long evolutionary path
of many incarnations, we have accumulated a wealth of wisdom, and
have made many good choices that benefit us in future lifetimes. We
have also made mistakes, and have sometimes abused the gifts we have
been given. To rectify such errors, we may take on an additional burden
in order to learn a particular lesson that we failed to learn in previous
lifetimes. In numerology, this burden is called a Karmic Debt.
The numbers that indicate a Karmic
Debt are 13, 14, 16, and 19. These double-digit numbers take on great
significance when they are found in the core numbers (the most important
numbers including the Life Path, Expression, Heart's Desire (or Soul
Urge), Personality, and Birth Day), and in the various cycles during
the course of your lifetime. Each has its own unique characteristics,
and its own particular difficulties.
When you are calculating your chart
- especially you core numbers and different cycles - you may encounter
the numbers 1, 4, 5, or 7. These single-digit numbers can be arrived
at by adding a variety of two-digit numbers. The number 1 can be arrived
at, for example, by combining the double-digit numbers of 10 (1 +
0 = 1), 19, 28, 37, 46 - all of which total to 10, and then to 1.
However, only in the case of 19 is a Karmic Debt indicated. Karmic
Debts are also associated with the numbers 4, 5, and 7. These numbers
can be preceded by an array of two-digit numbers, but when the 4 is
preceded by a 13; or when the 5 is preceded by a 14; or the 7 by a
16; a Karmic Debt is also read as part of the single-digit interpretation.
A Karmic Debt can be found in different
places in the chart. As a result of totals based on your date of birth,
for instance, or calculations based on the letters of your name. This
means that two people with a 16 Karmic Debt that is located in different
places in the chart, express it very differently. Thus, this is a
brief lay out the general characteristics of the Karmic Debt, and
some broad guidelines for dealing with it.
Description of the four Karmic
Debt numbers 13, 14, 16, 19
13
Those with the 13 Karmic Debt will
work very hard to accomplish any task. Obstacles stand in their way,
and must be overcome time and again. One may often feel burdened and
frustrated by the seeming futility of one's efforts there may be a
desire to surrender to the difficulties and simply give up on the
goal, believing it was impossible to attain in the first place. Some
with the 13 Karmic Debt fall to laziness and negativity. But efforts
are not futile, and success is well within reach. One simply must
work hard, and persevere in order to reach the goal. Many highly successful
people in all walk of life, including business, art, and athletics,
have a 13 Karmic Debt.
The key to succeeding wit the 13
is focus. Very often, people with the 13 Karmic Debt do not concentrate
or direct their energies in one specific direction, or on a single
task, but scatter their energies over many projects and jobs, none
of which amount to very much. A temptation wit the 13 is to take shortcuts
for quick success. Too often, that easy success doesn't come, causing
regret and the desire to give up. The result is a poor self-image,
and the belief that one is incapable of amounting to very much.
In order to focus, you must maintain
order in your life. Order is essential to success. You must maintain
a schedule, keep appointments, and follow through. Keep your environment
neat and under control, and never procrastinate. If you sustain a
steady and consistent effort, you will realize much reward.
14
The 14 Karmic Debt arises from previous
lifetimes during which human freedom has been abused. Those with a
14 Karmic Debt are forced to adapt to ever-changing circumstances
and unexpected occurrences. There is an acute danger of falling victim
to abuse of drugs, alcohol, and overindulgence in sensual pleasures,
such as food and sex. You must put the reins on yourself. Modesty
in all affairs is crucial to overcoming this Karmic Debt.
Also important is the need to maintain
order in life, and to establish one's own emotional stability. One
must also be willing to adapt to the unexpected occurrences of life,
all the while maintaining focus on one’s goals and dreams. Flexibility
and adaptability are at the very core of this struggle.
Orderliness in one's immediate environment is crucial to maintaining
clarity and focus. Mental and emotional stability must be attained
in order to avoid being thrown about by the changing fortunes in the
external environment.
But the key to the 14 Karmic Debt
is commitment. Life will resemble a roller coaster ride, but it will
always travel in the right direction if one's heart is set on what
is true and good. Set a high goal, maintain order wherever possible
in life, avoid excessive sensory indulgence, and maintain faith. Above
all, do not give up on dreams and goals.
Those with the 14 Karmic Debt will
experience life to the fullest, and as long as they maintain a high
dream, they will achieve success and great spiritual development.
16
The 16 Karmic Debt - wherever it
shows up on the chart - means destruction of the old and birth of
the new. The 16 is about the fall of the ego, and all that it has
built for itself. It is a watershed, a cleansing. All that has been
constructed, and all that serves to separate the person from the source
of life is destroyed. Through the 16, reunion with the great spirit
is accomplished.
This can be a painful process, because
it usually comes after much ego inflation. This results in a struggle
between the ego and the divine will. Life presents challenges to your
grand plans, which can be resented and struggled against. It is a
lost battle, and you will likely feel humbled in the face of the collapse
that follows. This humility is the key to later success, however,
because you will learn to follow the intimations of a higher reality.
In the destruction of the old, a spiritual rebirth takes place with
an entirely new awareness. This rebirth affects every area of your
life. It is a life much the better for the fall.
Those with the 16 Karmic Debt must
be careful of egotism. Very often, those with the 16 use their highly
intuitive and refined intellect to look down upon others, and view
the rest of the world as inferior. This causes acute alienation and
loneliness. In addition, it invites retribution, for the egotist is
humbled more harshly than any other. When the 16 is in one of
the core numbers, this process of destruction and rebirth is a continual
cycle that actually serves to bring you into higher consciousness
and closer union with the source of life.
The 16 Karmic Debt can be a path
of progress and great spiritual growth if it is looked at properly.
One develops great faith by placing one's life in the hands of God.
Through such faith, gratitude and peace are firmly established.
19
The person with the 19 Karmic Debt
will learn independence and the proper use of power. They will be
forced to stand up for them self, and often be left to stand alone.
Difficulties will be faced and overcome through personal struggle.
One of the central lessons for people
with the 19 Karmic Debt is that they stubbornly resist
help. Much of independence is self-imposed; simply don't want to listen
to others, or to accept the help or advice of others.
The 19 Karmic Debt can become a self-imposed
prison if they do not open up to the reality of interdependence, and
the mutual need for love.
The most important lesson for the
19 Karmic Debt is: While you seek to stand on own feet, still a human
being, deeply connected with others and in need of the support, assistance,
and human understanding that all people need. Those with the 19 Karmic
Debt will learn the hard way that "no man is an island,"
and that we are, indeed, "all bits of the main!”
The Basics of Numerology
The basic understanding of what each
number embraces within its vibration in the different parts of an
individual numerology chart.
All numbers have three possible expressions
-
Balanced
-
Under-balanced
-
Over-balanced
When we are out of balance, we may
experience the polarities within the number (the under-balance or
over-balance qualities). This occurs until we learn how to balance
the qualities of the number within ourselves. The definitions we give
below are the balanced expressions. Use your intuition to imagine
what qualities the number would take on if it were under-balanced
or over-balanced.
The Habit Challenge
A special trait of an individual
is known as "Habit Challenge". Some Numerologists refer
to this aspect as the "Point of Security". Both names describe
the nature of this aspect quite well. Although it is not exactly a
modifier of Core Elements, the Habit Challenge does influence the
flow of energy available to them.
Have you ever felt a habit or a repeated pattern that was hard to
identify? No matter how aware of the pattern you became, it continued
to occur over and over? Your Habit Challenge may shed some light on
this subject. The Habit Challenge is just what is sounds like--a habit
we feel challenged by which is usually negative. Because all numbers
have a polarity as well as a balanced state, the Habit Challenge is
usually experienced as an extreme (under-balanced or over-balanced)
rather than a balanced vibration. Our challenge is to learn how to
balance its influence. This trait then becomes positive and empowering.
Often stress, confusion, and insecurity are energies that create the
reactions found in the Habit Challenge. When a person becomes aware
of the reactions, they can choose to bring the extremes into a nurturing
and balanced state. Like all vibrations that exist within an individual
chart, synergy can enhance the individual parts.
Habit Challenge calculation
Determining a Habit Challenge is
quite simple. It is the total letters in a name added together. In
other words, rather than adding the value of each letter, we add the
total number of letters together and reduce them to one single digit.
For ease, we created possible descriptions for each number. You may
want to add to our descriptions. As creative beings, there are many
possible Habit Challenge expressions.
Possible Habit Challenge Responses
One can use their intuition to find,
how a given number would express as under-balanced or over-balanced.
The following descriptions apply to each of the numbers in context,
including the Core Elements.
1 Habit Challenge - Leadership
-
Under-balanced - insecure, dependent, passive.
-
Over-balanced - bossy, opinionated, dominating.
When acting in an under-balanced
way, the 1 may respond in a procrastinating manner, be indecisive,
and act in vacillating ways. The 1's natural assertive nature could
become over-balanced and result in a response that is bossy, impatient,
stubborn, impulsive, and over-attached to ones own beliefs.
2 Habit Challenge - Peacemaking
-
Under-balanced - indecisive, dependent, uncertain.
-
Over-balanced - oversensitive, disapproving,
unsupportive.
As an under-balanced response, it
may be hard to maintain a sense of identity because of a desire to
please. The 2 as an over-balanced response may become fussy over little
things and caught up in details.
3 Habit Challenge - Expression
-
Under-balanced - unfocused, vacillating, anxious.
-
Over-balanced - exaggerating, gossipy, lacking
in concentration.
As an under-balanced habit it can
exaggerate, become self indulgent, and be without direction. A 3 is
creative and expressive so when it becomes an over-balanced response
it can lead to scattered energies, starting many tasks, and finding
it hard to focus.
4 Habit Challenge - Form
-
Under-balanced - disorganized, narrow, uncertain.
-
Over-balanced - headstrong, limited, antagonistic.
A 4, as an under-balanced response
can expect a lot of others and fail to commit itself. When over-balanced,
it can become too serious and careful, often creating opposition.
In addition, it could become so attached to methods that it forgets
to see the big picture, getting caught up in details.
5 Habit Challenge - Freedom
-
Under-balanced - non progressive, cautious, doubtful.
-
Over-balanced - erratic, impulsive, careless.
The 5 could respond in an under-balanced
way by escaping reality through indulgent means. With an over-balance
response there could be a possibility of changing directions too often
before results are evident. This instability could effect relationships
and career.
6 Habit Challenge - Responsibility
-
Under-balanced - distant, self seeking, unorganized.
-
Over-balanced - discontent, overemotional, over-responsible.
When the 6 is under-balanced, its
response may be to avoid responsibility involving others, perhaps
failing to keep appointments or obligations. The 6 Habit Challenge
can become very attached to its home, family, and environment. When
it becomes over-balanced, it may live through others or possibly desire
to give unsolicited advice.
7 Habit Challenge - Individuality
-
Under-balanced - disregarded, superficial, undeveloped.
-
Over-balanced - resentful, hypercritical, secretive.
If responding in an under-balanced
expression, it can act in over-analytical and critical ways and can
even become cut off from its own deep feelings. An over-balanced response
can become very detached, shut people out, and hold onto resentments.
8 Habit Challenge - Manifestation
-
Under-balanced - powerless, impoverished, undisciplined.
-
Over-balanced - tactless, pushy, possessive.
When under-balanced, material success
and motivation may be lacking. When an 8 becomes over-balanced, it
may take its effective work characteristics into friendships and home
life. In addition, intimidation and manipulation may become a way
of attaining results as well as trying to do everything and forgetting
to delegate.
9 Habit Challenge - Compassion
-
Under-balanced - passionless, oppressive, aloof.
-
Over-balanced - unaccountable, impractical, dreamer.
If expressing in an under-balanced
way, it can be somewhat cold or detached, feeling that it is being
broad-minded. In addition, it can become a jack-of-all-trades and
master of none. The 9 can become moody and filled with ups and downs.
Over-balance can be expressed as too dreamy and impractical or too
generous for its own good.
11/2 Habit Challenge - Illumination
-
Under-balanced - aimless, fearful of psychic
abilities, submissive.
-
Over-balanced - extreme nervousness, misguided,
obsessed.
On Master Numbers - Both 11/2 and
22/4 can be read as either their master vibration of their digited
down vibration. Master vibrations represent a much higher frequency.
When a 11/2 or 22/4 cannot hold the higher frequency, they will revert
to either a 2 or a 4 respectively. So, also refer to the under-balanced
and over-balanced aspects of the 2 and the 4 when analyzing the 11/2
and 22/4.
22/4 Habit Challenge - Master Builder
-
Under-balanced - lethargic, spiritless, inactive.
-
Over-balanced - extreme tension, overwhelmed,
controlling.
The purpose of pointing out the under-balanced
and over-balanced traits that may occur from a Habit Challenge, is
to help identify possible patterns. Once identified, an individual
can become conscious and work towards balancing the negative traits
into a positive and creative response rather than a reactive one.
We have found that once the Habit Challenge is embraced, it can them
be balanced and brought into an energy which can be an impetus for
success.
When working with the Habit Challenge, also pay attention to the other
Core Element numbers. The Habit Challenge may be easier to balance
if it has harmonious energies to help it along. If other Core Elements
are Discordant, the Habit Challenge may be a little more difficult
to direct into a positive and balanced resource.
The Alphabet in Relationship to Numbers
A Numerologist sees numbers as vibrational
expressions. Numbers are also associated with letters. Both numbers
and letters describe certain vibrational patterns. These patterns
are forces that manifest within a person's life and their environment.
By examining a persons name and birth date an interpretation can be
made. The individual's "snowflake pattern" exists in relationship
to the ever-present vibrations or expressions of the universe. These
constant expressions are wave like cycles and come full circle in
a sequence of nine degrees. Like a lotus blossom illustrates, the
unfoldment of human consciousness is accomplished within this sequence.
Each letter is 'personified' (Definition: A rhetorical figure of speech
in which inanimate objects or abstractions are endowed with human
qualities) to help you better imagine the characteristics of each
letter.
A (1)
This letter holds the vibration of
a leader and is the most aggressive and self-starting of the alphabet.
'A' is very adventurous and pioneering and has much independence.
It is very self-reliant. Liking to initiate, they often must learn
through experience. 'A' is also a catalyst activating other vibrations
around them. They have to learn how to be less self-absorbed sometimes
and are
